Sanibel Wedding

My Fiance and I are getting married on Sanibel Island next summer.

We are pretty settled on staying at Casa Ybel but do not want to get married there.

We have been doing a lot of research of the area, and we think we would like to have our reception at the new Mad Hatter and get married on the beach right outside so people can just walk in to the reception. The one problem we have with it is we would like to dance/party afterward. The restaurant is really small so Im thinking that it will not accomidate dancing.

We were thinking that we could do drinks on the beach outside after dinner and cake and do a bonfire/tiki torch/play music kind of thing....

Does anyone know if were allowed to do this?

    Since ther restuarant is so close to the beach I would recomend speaking with them directly to see if this is an option.  If they have hosted/are hosting weddings they should be familiar with the process since I am sure it is a request they here often.  GL!

    I don't know the specifics, but Sanibel has some pretty strict regulations about outdoor events at night. Something about 10pm and music/lights. The Mad Hatter will know. I am sure you are already aware, but Casa Ybel is sort of far from the Hatter. I think Tween Waters is the closest resort- just a thought :)

    not sure exactly when your wedding is but most beaches here in SW Florida have a 9pm lights out for turtle nesting season. They are very strict. Definately talk with manager at The Mad Hatter they can give you all the info you need.

    Thats no good. I hadn't heard about those rules. Thats rough. We really want to do some sort of after party, after cake.

    I really don't want to end the party at 10pm.

    Anyone have any ideas?
