I keep reading all these real serious posts and a lot of them are "OMG what should I do about this" types so I figured I would do something to try to take the stress off and hopefully we can have some fun with this.

So I want to know what your wedding cake will look like!

Mine is going to be an octagon, 4 teirs, a dark red ribbon around the base of each teir with scrollwork above the ribbons. Not sure about the topper yet, we are still shopping around for that. The flavors are white, raspberry swirl, chocolate, and another raspberry swirl.

How about yours?

    This is the main inspiration ...


    ... but with two tiers only. We may mix it up, though and have one layer with horizontal stripes.


    .... and we will have the scroll work (as above) at the bottom of each layer.

    Oh wow that look pretty! I wish I had pictures to be able to put up but I can't find anything that looks even remotely close.

    That cake is beautiful! We're still a ways out so haven't settled on a cake design yet, but I may snag that as one of our ideas. I know I want to use fresh flowers on ours... that's as far as I've gotten!

    Mine is a 3 tier round cake with black scroll writing and our monogram in the middle of the second layer and will either have black or blue ribbon on the base of each layer (designer says black but I want blue). The flavors are strawberry shortcake and carrot cake with cream cheese filling. We haven't decided on a topper yet as I did not want flowers. I'm very excited to see it all put together!

    ooooh, those cakes sound pretty....

    we might do little groupings of big and mini cupcakes as part of our centerpieces, rather than having one big cake.  sort of inspired by this photo in yellow instead of pink.  i WISH we had the budget for all these peonies but ours will look a LOT simpler.....big sigh.

    Mine will be a 3 round tiers. It will be covered in various shades of green, black and white thin horizontal stripes. It will have a sugar flower bouquet topper and a couple small batches of sugar flowers on the rest of the cake. The flowers will most likely be black and white with green leaves. 

    I havent figured out my flavors yet, all I know is that FI wants our top tier to be lemon cake with a raspberry filling. There will be a chocolate cake but the filling is still undecided. I am also thinking of a pineapple carrot cake with a cream cheese filling.

    This was my daughters:


    Layers were marble with chocolate fudge filling, darkchocolate with peanut butter mousse filling, lemon with french vanilla filling and vanilla with apricot filling...all frosted with buttercream with a stucco texture.  It was WONDERFUL.
    My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

    Instead of cake we're doing fondue. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE cake almost as much as I love my man but I wanted to do something different
