Good Morning!

Everyone enjoying the sudden winter weather?

I'm not!  I was hoping it would stay warm.

I blame Puxatawney Phil.

Re: Good Morning!

  • Ugh, I just looked at the weekend forecast for Hendo and they're calling for snow showers tomorrow.  I was outside in short sleeves like a week ago!  I really need it to warm back up in the next couple weeks
  • Nope! I've also enjoyed the warmer weather. Our windows have been open during the day and I LOVE it (as do the cats), but now it's too cold.

I'm ready for vacation and warmer weather (hopefully). The birds also think it should be warmer. They've cleaned out our bird feeders in a matter of two days. . . Granted, there is one really fat one that hangs out.

  • Good morning.  It really would be awesome if this board was more active.

I want a bird feeder for Valentine's day.  The house where I work has one and they have a beautiful cardinal couple that eats from their feeder.

We had two to begin with. One is up on a hill and another down in our back yard. I was having a really crappy week last week and so I got another one because even if it makes me sound silly, watching the birds randomly fly by and chirp, makes me happy.

I actually want to build some kind of bench type fixture and put a could feeds/houses on it and sink it into our hill (if that makes any sense) so that the birds have more places to eat and 'live'. I just dont know if birds like their nests that close together (it'd be about 1ft apart or so).

Annnnnd now I sound like a crazy bird lady. I swear I'm not.

  • It definitely  doesn't sound silly. I think it helps me de-stress.

I have a bird house in our front tree and we have a pair of birds that always build their nest under our porch. My fiance keeps mentioning he is exicted for them to come back this year.

If we had more squirrels around, you better believe I would be a crazy squirrel lady.

  • As in you like the squirrels? DH's dad has a really awesome feeder, but this one really fat and obese squirrel has figured out how to get to the seeds. I keep joking that we're going to send him a real squirrel feeder :)

We're trying to use different seeds/feed to draw in more birds of different varieties. Right now it's mostly cardinals. However, yesterday I saw a woodpecker! :)

  • Ugh! No, not enjoying this weather at all.  I started getting a head cold monday.  You know, the really annoying kind that involveds lots of sneezing, sniffling and runny nose.  I don't feel bad though!

Hahah! Yeah, I'd blame the cats. We've got maybe 3 strays that cruise around our 'neighborhood', but they've been gone most of the winter. Our cats LOVE LOVE LOVE looking out the window at the birds. They're strictly indoor cats though, so no 'play time' with the birds for them.

  • Yes, I love squirrels. Our shower curtain has squirrels on it if that says anything. Almost as bad as the squirrel lady in Rat Race, but not quite. (Only kidding of course)

My cats only have one eye each so they can't go outside either.  We have been showing Wink videos of birds and she will go behind the laptop and walk across the laptop trying to figure out where the birds are. It is hilarious.

  • I hate squirrels.  Nasty little rats.

I love birds, but I hate it when they chirp in the tree that's two feet away from my head when I'm trying to sleep in the morning.

I prefer birds on like, paintings and pillows and t-shirts to real birds.
