What are you going to DIY?

I'm just curious what everyone is planning to DIY. Do you have any ideas and what are some cute/ clever projects you've seen? I'm planning to DIY all the paper things (invites, programs, etc.) and reception decor. Luckily we won't need too much of that since the hall is so gorgeous - basically just centerpieces. And my mom is super crafty with paper and makes her own greeting cards so she'll be helping me with that. What about you? :)

Oh geez :) is there an "everything but the dress" option?

Out the door on my way to work but I'll try to come up with a more comprehensive list to post later tonight :)

I'm also doing all of the paper "stuff" (invites, programs, seating cards, etc.) as well as center pieces, all other decor, and favors (cookie bar). I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and it is going to come in VERY handy with all of my DIY projects.

So far I've gotten my hands on half of the cake topper and working on some chalkboard frames. We're in the process of moving, renovating, painting, etc, so I havent had much of a chance to think about what there is to do. I did buy a "mr and mrs" sign in Etsy as well as some fabric for the cake box. Hopefully when we have a functioning kitchen I can step it up :)

I kind of suck at DIY... Art class always was my lowest grade :)

I'm trying to get as much done for me as possible, because besides not being good at projects, I don't enjoy the frustration that accompanies them! I do have a very close friend making my mom's veil more modern for me, and I'm assisting, if that counts!

It is TOTALLY worth the money. I am in love with my machine. My pens and pen holder are on their way now so I can start experimenting with addressing envelopes. :)

Everything paper for sure. Maybe centrepieces and other decor for the reception space, but that remains to be seen.

The list for ours currently includes as much as I can think of to do ourselves short of sewing the WP garments and photography.  I'd add as a disclaimer however that we're planning on 36 or less including us, we're having our ceremony in a national park and we're renting a VRBO for the reception.  I plan on hiring a day-of person or two to help out with set-up/tear down/trash/etc. for stuff that I would do myself for a normal hosted party but would prefer not to have to do in a white ballgown :)

    Pre-wedding:
    STDs
    Invites (including hand-made pocketfolds)
    Our website(s)
    Alterations
    OOT bags
    Day-of baskets for BM/GM

    Ceremony:
    Kissing balls (carnations)
My bouquet (roses & asianic lilies)
    Girls bouquets (roses)
Corsages & Bouts. (roses & alstromeria)
Ceremony music (my old phone as an MP3 player w/blutooth wireless bose speakers)
Parts of the ceremony script (undecided on how much customization we'll do but I'm sure there will be some)
    Paddle fan programs
    Water bottle labels
    BM jewelry

    Reception:
    Bathroom baskets
    Escort cards
    Music
    Catering
    Centerpieces
    Lighting

    Post-wedding:
    Wedding announcements
    Thank-you cards

Undecided: Custom postage stamps, videography, photobooth

I'm sure there's more, but I can't really think of any more at the moment :)

Oh ;) I was also considering making FI's favorite casserole for our RD and making his favorite breakfast for anyone who wants to show up the next morning!

Haha!!  So funny you should say that!  I made french toast the other night for FI for dinner and the next day he said I should make that again the morning after our wedding!  I'll probably do that just for him :)

My wedding is a mix of DIY and family/friend help. Hey, I have lots of talent around me :) Instead of wedding gifts, I am asking for help during the wedding, which people have really liked, especiallymy parents and friends 2-5 years post college/grad school. N-e-ways:

    DYI (self):
    website
    unity candle
paper items (programs, seating cards, invites, STD, thank you cards, announcements)

    honeymoon
    flower girl dress (2)
    live ceremony music (violin)
    veil
    favors (cookies)
    engagement photos
    STD/invite designing
