Tips on Brazilian Bikini Wax???

Hi girls,

So I've never done this and am thinking of doing this for the big day/honeymoon. Any tips? I'm nervous!

I haven't done it either, but have flirted with the idea :-)

I've been told you should DEFINITELY trim before you go in. Usually good places will have special wax for it and will apply special stuff on afterward to reduce the redness.

I've had brazilians done once a month for years now. They always hurt no matter if it's your first time or your 100th time. Take some ibuprofen before you go, it's supposed to help with the pain. Like the PP said, trim before you go. Long hair will hurt like a b**** when getting waxed and its makes it really difficult to work with. They'll give you some cooling gel/lotion to help afterwards (they should). Just go in there with confidence (instead of being frightened) and you should be fine! It'll feel great afterwards! And don't have sex the night you get it done.. it'll cause irritation! Good luck

Love them Olga is awesome!!! I only get it done when I know I'll be going away for more than 3 days usually once a yr . It stings especially the first time but it's not bad at all. At first was awkward but my lady talks to you so you feel a little more comfortable and for me it helps.

I've gotten them before. They aren't bad. Typically it's easier if you trim beforehand. Try and relax, and it'll be easier.

Also ditto the no sex the day of. It'll irritate it and oh my lord it hurts pretty bad if you irritate it too soon. And you can't lay out for 24 hours or get in a tanning bed for 48 hours afterwards. That's not horrible though.

I personally love waxing rather than shaving, but can't afford to do it on a regular basis. So I just do it before trips.

I've flirted with this idea for years, but it still sounds terrifying!

How low should you trim? I mean, I know you have to have something for them to rip out... but how much is too much and how little is too little?

As for the length of the hair I usually go a week with out shaving before my appointment. They usually tell me the hair needs to be the length of a piece of rice for wax.
