  •  would try as much to prevent the sunburn, re-applying sunscreen as often as possible. But, I usually just keep applying a moisturizing lotion after
  • I swear by this: As soon as you realize you've gotten too much sun, get a big bowl of ice water, soak a washcloth/hand towel in it, and place it over the burn. Leave it until it gets hot, then put it back in the ice water and repeat several times. You usually have to add more ice a few times. It seems to pull the burn out and make you stop cooking, so to speak! Sometimes if you're already red, you can see the red go away right before your eyes. It's not pleasant, but it works for me and everyone I've ever suggested it to. You have to do it for awhile, though, so don't quit too soon. Also, once you get over the initial ice water shock, it feels really good! After that, moisturize moisturize moisturize! I'm on my phone, so my paragraphs may disappear... Sorry.

  • I would suggest using sun screen as much as possible and then use aloe to mosturize your skin

  • I would just bathe myself in sunscreen. There's nothiing worse (or less attractive) than peeling skin.

After you're out of the sun, I would make sure you continue to moisturize.

If you do get burnt, tea bags really help to relieve the sunburn pain quickly, but the damage to your skin will already be done.
  • Take two ibuprofen for the swelling.
There is a great cream that vanishes burns, I soak in this stuff in the summer. It's called Sarna. It's a little expensive, but it gets the burn gone overnight! And it helps prevent peeling.
30 on your face, 15 on your body every 30 mins to 1 hour depending how sweaty you do or don't get.
And, regardless of what SPF you wear, apply it that often.

  • Aloe Vera gel!!!!

I suggest getting a clear one, as my sister learned the hard way that the ones with green or blue dye will get into your peeling skin and make you look like a leper.  It's totally natural and you can even buy the aloe leaves in some stores (if you have a Wegmans, they sell them) and just squeeze it right out.

There are some aloe gels that include lidocane to soothe the pain but they're usually colored.

  • P.S. I'd also suggest getting an umbrella or something for your lifeguard stand to shield your face as much as possible when you're a couple weeks out.

</div><div>THIS, right after the burn. wait 24 hours before putting creams on it, even aloe because that can lock the heat in and you keep cooking and it hurts. this is the best thing to draw the heat out and then after 24 hours use those natural aloes to moisturize!! </div><div>also if yo do start peeling in spite of this use a good exfoliating loufa or something to get rid of the dead skin as quickly as possible. good luck!

  • Definitely avoid the burn as best you can. Bathe in the sunscreen- who cares what the people at the pool think, you wanna look nice for the wedding!

I use vitamin E capsules (cut them open and apply sticky liquid/goo) after a burn, as well as applying cold wet towels.
  • my grandmother used to use cold/ice water mixed with vinager to pull the burn and redness out when we would get burned.  It smells bad, but then just shower in cool water and really moisterize. But I'm with ppl try to prevent it. Wear a had/visor, lots of SPF and the umbrella idea is a good one too.

This! I actually just burned my face (reallllly bad) the other week under a sun lamp and I was tomato red! I did the wet/cool washcloth, then I would moisturize when I would go to bed. My face was back to normal in 5 days.

  • You're allowed to use more than one period in a post. I promise.
  • Take some ibuprofen to reduce swelling. Use some damp, cold washcloths as others suggested.  Also, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Definitely try to prevent it though as best as you can.

  • It makes it hard to read. Really hard to read. Anything I would have added about sunburn would have just been repeated information.

It has everything to do with the post, actually. How is anyone supposed to give advice if they cannot even read the post?
