Railing - decor help

So okay, I'm not sure where i'm sitting the bridal party, if we're all sitting together, or if i'm just going to have a sweetheart table. Initially I wanted us all to sit behind the railing- however I don't think there'll be enough room back there. What would you guys suggest? Also, that railing is about 30 feet long.  I was thinking about buying some ivory sheets (because it's cheaper than buying 10 yards of fabric), putting Icicle lights over that, and then tulle over that. Could I get away with that? Or should I just leave it alone. I've tried to include a "360" view of the place- any easy and quick decorating tips will be HELPFUL!

  • How many is in your bridal party? I think if you are doing the long rectangle tables you can fit 6 place settings per table.

  • tash pic #2, is the table to the left fixed/bolted in place?  behind the railing's a perfect place to sit if that table isn't gonna obstruct you.  if there isn't enough room or you don't like the look have you considered sitting them with their dates?  Or like gmg said depending on the total number, enough to fill up their own side table?

sorry I got nothing about decoration, I suck at that, but it sounds creative.  I never would've thought of icicle lights.   decorate vs. leave it alone - can you bring your supplies and see if you like the look of it?
  • gmg- there are 9 in bridal party including fiance and I.

sultry- pic 2- yes that table is bolted down and where i am with camera that's walking into the banquet room. so that's the entrance. However in pic #1 is the table right below where you walk in at. like in pic # 2- it's where fiance knees are.

at everyone else- the railing i'm talking about is the big one in front of the window.s.

  • Hmmmm. Do you have a pic where you are in the middle of room facing the entrance so we can see what type of space you are working with back there behind the rail you want them to sit?

That bolted table do look kinda high. They need to move it since its a special occasion lol

  • OK.. once you said that's the entrance... it made more sense... I wish there was a pic behind the railing to see how much space is back there and how high everyone will be if they're sitting at a table behind the railing.. Im trying to envision what you are planning to do... I think as long as the sheet and the tulle all match.. maybe u can set up a mock railing fully decorated.

  • Hey what about using Tulle? and you can put the lights in the tulle? Tulle is really cheap! I like the idea though!
  • Casey - yes i was going to put tulle over the icicle lights but then the sheets under the icicle lights so it would completely cover up the railing.

  • That would be enough space for the long tables but you would only have walking room. I dont think people would be able to come back there to mingle/give hugs though. But then again, yall can do all the mingling/hugs where the guests will be because Im sure the only time you will be in your seats is during dinner lol.
