Bummed

The place I wanted to have my rehearsal dinner is officially booked... by someone else. Stupid small town with multiple weddings on the same day!

It was just so perfect - low key, family style bbq. Very much me and FI.

  • I'm sorry :( What about hosting something at someone's home? Just do a barbeque after the rehearsal and kick back with a beer.

We plan on doing a taco bar at my FMIL's house after the rehearsal.

  • Im with Emily, we are doing pizzas, salads, and chips in our garage (luckily it is heated). We're having it catered in from one of our local pizza joints.

  • I agree with the other ladies.  We are having our rehearsal at my FMIL's fiancee's house...bbq style.  Throw up some pretty lights and use some cute checkered table cloths and enjoy a relaxing evening before saying I do!

We are doing ours at a pub with party platters and growlers of beer.  Just keep hunting and you will find something awesome!

  • That does sound a lot easier! I guess I always just assumed that it needs to be at a restaurant, but it would certainly be much more comfortable at someones house. And I know of a great bbq place that does catering... I'm liking where this is going - thanks guys!

  • Hmmm.  Question.  Is this something we should plan now?  We are getting married in a section of NH that is very populated with reception venues.  I know Fiances parents mentioned abou hosting the RD but I don't want to make them feel pressured now to book it but the plan ahead part of me wants to book it myself to know that it is done.   what to do....

I think that if there are a lot of weddings in your area you might want to start looking at what you want to do, becase if you do want to host it somewhere other than a private residence I would imagine that fills up quickly.

And I reached out to another restaurant that we really like and they don't do private parties on busy Friday nights so depending on the day you might be limited with that as well.
