Fall/Halloween Shower =]

My wedding shower will be next October (yes I'm a little ahead of myself but I'll be in nursing school when I get married so it's easier to start planning now) and we're looking for an old or historic restaurant or hall. The only ones I can come up with are the Whitney, The Holly Hotel, and The White Horse Inn. Does anyone know of any place else??

Not sure what area you are looking for but Ann Arbor has some cool historic resturants..Gandy Dancer for example.

This.  You don't plan your own shower.  Someone offers to throw it for you and plans it themselves.  And if someone doesn't offer, you don't have one.

ETA:  Also, it is waaaaaaaay to early to think about showers.  Showers are typically within 3 months(ish) of the wedding so you're looking at about this time next year.

Nooooo I'm not throwing myself a shower!!! My mom & mother in law are throwing it for me. I'm just helping to brainstorm ideas. And like I said before, we're starting to look in to things now because I'm starting nursing school and will literally have no time for anything besides studying. I've planned wedding showers before so I know the timeline....I don't think it's too early to start looking for a venue at all.

If your mom and FMIL are throwing you the shower, you shouldn't really worry about how busy you are with school. You're not supposed to be involved in the shower at all. You can give venue suggestions to them, but don't involve yourself. This is something people are throwing for you. Focus on other wedding related things and enjoy not having to plan it. I also think it is way too early to even begin thinking about a shower. I would wait till at least next year before deciding on a venue. Get some ideas for venue locations, but then just set it aside until next year.
