Legare Waring House

Anyone have any wisdom to share on this? It's my planner's favorite, and we just put a hold on 10.10.2014!!

Julie Ann is going to give us a tour on a day that we'll already be out to the property for a wedding workshop at Founder's Hall, so I could not be more grateful, and might be in love already! Any thoughts/experience would be awesome!

Re: Legare Waring House

  • I had Magnolia Plantation booked for our May 24, 2014 wedding and by booked I mean a $500 non-refundable deposit (we're from Chicago so I booked the venue before I saw anything in person).  My planner (Lauren from Cafe Catering, is she yours too?) suggested that I look at Legare Waring the day before we were to leave from our Charleston trip and omg....this place is stunning!! Magnolia is wonderful, but Legare literally takes your breath away! Anyways, I immediately booked Legare regardless of the 500$ i was looking at Magnolia. However, keep in mind that there really is no indoor option for this venue.  I'd like to do everything outside with no tent, however, even if there is a little bit of rain, a tent will be needed and their not cheap. Tents with a liner or clear top get more expensive than I anticipated, 3-4,000$ on top of the $5000 venue fee. I think I am going to put one on rain delay (35% non-refundable deposit), but I'm not sure yet.  Hope this helps!

</div><div>I can't wait to go see it in a few weeks! </div><div>I have been thinking about the tent issue, and I'll have to discuss it further with my planner - Lori from Blue Planet Green Events, by the way - and see what her thoughts are. We are planning for next October, so hopefully won't have to worry too too much about rain. She knows I'm not a huge fan of the tent idea, but I also certainly don't want to be silly about it.</div><div>
</div><div>I know someone mentioned it before, but what do you think (getting way ahead of myself) about shoes? Someone was saying heels would be impossible. Which I can totally live with, but I was just wondering what you thought!</div><div>
    </div><div>When is your wedding??</div><div>
    </div><div>Thanks!

  • Heels aren't impossible if you are outdoors.  Our ceremony was in a garden and I ordered solemates for my heels.  They totally worked and kept me from sinking in the grass!
