Oh my gosh.... I LOVE IT. I was just telling FI tonight that I wanted to get a picture of us under this. He isn't thrilled about the whole photo thing, but will go along with me.I'm trying to figure out when we can sneak away and grab a photo here.  The statue is literally right next to where the wedding is, well maybe .4 miles.  So I was either thinking first look at this park or after the ceremony on our way to the hotel our photographer will stop for the final shot.  I might not want to see him till I walk down the aisle.  Not sure though.  THANKS FOR THIS.  I'm rambling.  HOW IS YOUR JOB???

Thanks for asking! It's great, I love working downtown and really like the people I work with :) I def. think you could get a pic next to it since it's so close. I'm with you on not wanting to see FI til you walk down the aisle.... but it is frustrating since there are so many photos I want :)

hi girls...just wondering where this statue is???? Thanks!

The statue is currently in Sarasota (and has been for the last year) and I hear has plans to stay here.  Their exact location is at US-41 and John Ringling Blvd at Bay Front Park. However, the pictures in this blog are not in Sarasota.  I'm not sure where they were taken.

I've got to say that I love this picture idea soooo much!  Especially since we are both military... just stinks that it's in Sarasota!I've got to persuade you to doing the first look beforehand, Moon!  I think it will be so much more intimate and you won't waste too much time missing out on hanging with your guests during the cocktail hour.  I think it's such a great idea!

That's so funny that you posted this!  I was at Longboat Key this weekend, and we went to St. Armand's and passed this statue with FI!!  I said I want a picture with this!!  It is soooo cute!!! :)

  • Thanks so much for sharing my images! This statue is actually located in San Diego at the USS Midway Museum, but there is one in Sarasota as well! It was located near Marina Jack. We photographed a wedding near there and saw the statue. But that was in 2008 or 2009, so it's possible that it has changed locations since then. : )
