So we have an older crowd for our wedding - 80% over the age of 50. As much as I love hip hop for dancing, I doubt our guests would find that much fun, I can just picture my Nana's face as someone "drops it like its hot"
That being said, there's lots of other music FI and I like and think our guests will too. For the cocktail hour we are planning on music like Norah Jones, John Mayer, Jack Johnson - that slow soul/jazz, transitioned into instrumental jazz for the dinner hour. For the dancing music after that we love Motown and the crooners (Sinatra, Martin, Buble, etc), but aren't sure another category of music to throw in there.
I'm sure our DJ would have ideas for us too, but if you ladies have any suggestions for the dancing music that would go well with our scheme, I'd love to hear it!
