  Hi,
  
  We will be using him as our videographer for our wedding next year.  I was hesitant for the same reasons you are.  We were debating between him and Modern Image Studios.  We had an appointment with him and were very impressed with the demo he showed us (we actually both got a little choked up).  He also will tap into the DJ's sound board so the sound for your ceremony/reception is very clear.
  
  We waited to put down a deposit until after I got a demo from Modern Image.  I do not like to talk poorly of others but I was extremely dissapointed by the video they sent.  There are many great reviews on Modern Image which is why I was really surprised.  The sound was terrible and one of the most important shots (to me) of the bride and dad walking down the aisle was filmed from the side of the church through the crowd so you did not even see them walk down.  If that were my video I would be devistated.
  
  The other thing that helped sway me is that he and my DJ both highly recommend each other and work well together and I really trust my DJ.  REM actually did the videography for them for something personally.  Normally I would be put off by two of my vendors recommending each other but I found them both on my own (not through the recommendations) and the fact that they know each other and work great together just makes me feel that much more comfortable about it all.
  
  Also he has a lot of videos up on vimeo? and youtube- if you email him he can send you the link.
  
  Hopefully someone else on here has actually used him and can give better feedback than I have.  I did meet him and was impressed and thought the prices and quality were better than other options.

  I highly recommend REM! We used them for our wedding this summer in St. Louis, MO and honestly could not have been happier with the outcome. It was one of the best investments we made for our wedding. They are so professional and will go out of their way to ensure you get exactly what you want.
  
  We watch our DVD all the time. The first time I saw it, I had tears in my eyes...I was so happy with the way REM captured all of the most precious moments of our day. We will treasure this DVD forever and it's the best feeling knowing that its such a beautiful video as well. Friends & family that watch it are all so impressed.
  They are a highly skilled team - we had two videographers at our wedding and yet, they were so discreet that we didn't even notice them moving around.
  
  I have recommended them to many friends and family. I know we will be using them again for sure when planning my siblings weddings in the future.

  REM Video and Photography are the best! I used them for my wedding and they were incredibly professional. They listen to what you want and make sure they get everything on your list. They are patient and helpful, even after the wedding. I could not have been happier with my decision to have them do my wedding. My husband and I were impressed by the different kinds of photos they took and how they caught such specail moments on camera and on tape. Our video was so special. They really take the time to customize things, and they make efforts to make sure you get everything you want and it is of high quality. I would recommend them to my family and friends without hesitation. They are trustworthy, punctual, and above all the end product of their work was fantastic.

  Robert actually came highly recommended to us from a few of our friends who had used them for their weddings.  So we also used R.E.M. for our video.  We had two videographers and they were really great.  Robert was able to capture everything with a fun modern hollywood style touch.  It basically feels like a movie with you as the stars.  He's very easy to work with, and was very easy to get along with during the day.  Throughout the day both videographers were discrete and were able to capture a lot of candid moments since they you didn't really notice them.  Very professional.  I'd highly recommend them for any wedding.  The highlight video they do is also really awesome and modern.
