Grayed-out threads

This might be a dumb question because it could very well be right in front of my face...but, I have noticed that some threads under all topics are grayed-out as opposed to other posts that are in black font.  I tried looking up on the website why that is, but couldn't find anything.  Just a random, curious question!

    If it's grey, it means there have been no new posts since you last clicked on it.  The bold ones mean there have been new posts since you last clicked.
