hotel room blocks

We are struggling with what hotel to reserve our rooms for guests at for our wedding. We have looked into the Omni (expensive and unwilling to negotiate), the Chateau Burbon (have heard great things but reviews on Yelp are awful), the Westin, and Royal Sonesta. We are also interested in Hotel Monteleone but havent gotten prices there yet. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations from personal experience? Thanks so much!

    We got the Westin and they have been amazing to work with. We filled our initial block and they added more rooms without a problem. The wedding is next summer but many of the guest have already made reservations and had no problems booking.

    We used the Chateau Bourbon for our wedding because the location was ideal (exactly in between the church and reception) and we negotiated $99/night. Our wedding was in March. Our guests were thrilled with the price and the hotel overall.

    There were hiccups along the way, I will be honest, I would still recommend them. I found little details in the contract and would have to remind them to change; the hotel sold out a month in advance and they didn't contact me (maybe they don't have to but it was annoying); I had to call the manager's cell phone to get the front desk to hand out the welcome bags (but it did happen once I did).

    So it wasn't perfect, but I don't know that it ever entirely is. Our guests were happy with the reasonable rate and location. Plus, we booked enough rooms for 4 free nights and plenty of complimentary upgrades to suites.

    We are using two hotels in order to give our guests two different price level options.  We are using Monteleone and The Whitney.  Our wedding is not until May, but I'm happy so far with the prices and being able to get in touch with people easily, good to work with so far, etc.
