Parents gifts

My fiance and I are having a hard time figuring out what to get our parents as gifts to thank them for all they have done for us. We were thinking maybe a photobook with pics of our life from when we were born until now but we don't know. If anyone has any suggestions that woukd be awesome!

Re: Parents gifts

  • We gave my mom a nook and dh's parents a gift certificate to a B&B.  Most likely your parents already have photo albums of you growing up.
  • My friend and her fiance gave their parents custom made hankerchiefs with a poem stitched in as well as the couples wedding date. Very thoughtful and unique!
  • At the RD we gave them gift cards to nice restaurants. After our pro pics came out, I made each set of parents an album on Shutterfly. The albums were like $50 each, and they were personalized for each side of the family (highlighted photos of family members from that side).

  • Our parents didn't want/need any "stuff". Plus, we already get them "stuff" for Christmas and birthdays. Smile

We thought about gift cards, but instead just opted for a heartfelt handwritten note.

After the wedding, we made sure they all received a photobook and any prints they wanted and paid for them all.
  • We made photobooks with our wedding photos.  The downside to this gift is that we could not present it to them the day of the wedding, but we gave them nice cards with hearfelt messages letting them know to expect a photobook.

Our wedding was at the end of June and we just received our photobooks, so our parents will be getting them soon!

  • The problem with photobooks is that my mom is already planning on getting one herself because it comes with the price of the photography package.
  • Rather than stuff, we got each set of parents something they could do together. My dad and stepmom got a gift certificate to a nice restaurant, H's parents got vouchers for free games at their favorite golf course, and my mom and stepdad got a night at a nice hotel for their anniversary, which was two days after our wedding.

  • I gave my father a handkerchief that stated:  "Of all the walks we've taken together, this is the one I love the most" , and I gave my mother one with a a poem on it about being her her daughter always.

It made both of them tear up, and they loved it.  Even if it's not necessarily tradition, or well heard of, I made my parents happy, and that's worth it to me.
