Quality aside, how would you know what sizes to get? Odds are you'll end up with fifty pairs of flip flops leftover. I, for one, only have dressier flip flops. I really don't have any of the plain color, Old Navy-type so I know I wouldn't grab a pair.
I'm sure it's discouraging to hear, but a lot of people will probably not take these and you'll end up with a lot leftover. I would come up with a new idea.
I can't talk to the quality but I agree with the pp about it not being a great favor. Sorry! It could possibly rank right there with an engraved photo frame with your names and wedding date. lol
Now if you do it in addition to your favors, I like the idea. I've seen pics on TK and mentioned to some friends who haven't heard of the idea. They loved it because they like to take off their stilettos after a while but don't like to go barefoot at a reception. Then again, maybe they were being polite. Though, you will inevitably have a lot left over. (Donate them to Goodwill!)
Hello. Hopefully, this isn’t too late but I will disagree with all of these girls regarding flip flops in general. If you have these in addition to other favors then this is a good idea. I would not however, purchase a lot of these. Looking at your list of ladies, determine if you need 30 pair or less. I wouldn’t buy anymore than 50. I would get a range of sizes and colors. If you don’t know shoe ranges already, I would buy larger sizes b/c these days people have big feet (over size 9). I would recommend getting flip flops at Old Navy on sale or at Partypop. I actually got flip flops on sale at old navy for less than $1 for my wedding.
As an adult, I am responsible for my own footwear. This idea has been around for some time, and I really don't mean to rain on your parade, but seriously, at what other event in life would the host even consider providing FOOTWEAR for the guests?
This is just another idea that someone came up with to part brides and grooms with their money. I don't care if they are $1 a pair-it's really the principle of the thing for me.
Oh, and I wear flip flops from March through November. Just not cheap one from a dollar store. And next, unbroken-in flip flops are very, very uncomfortable.
But good luck.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
