Gift Bags - Out of Towners!

Hi!

My FI and I are getting married in the city in October.  We have over 30 guests coming from overseas.  Does anyone have ideas for the arrival gift bags? Does anyone have a cute Chicago/Wedding poems to go with it?

Thanks!

Some things you could do would be to include a CD with some songs about Chicago, a map of the city with some landmarks and history they might be interested in seeing during the down time, maybe include some essentials like bottled water, granola bars (or something locally made to snack on, if you want the full Chicago theme) and samples of Advil or Tylenol (in case there are some hungover people the morning after).

Also, I would highly recommend they go eat at Epic Burger.

Also, if you contact the Chicago Convention and Visitors Bureau, they might give you some city magazines, maps, etc that you could include. These are typically free.

Yes, you also want to see if there are any visitors discounts anywhere. If I remember correctly, Macy's has a 10% coupon for out-of-towners. We gathered some of those for our OOT guests, or if you include a leaflet of info in their bags, you could explain to them that all they need to do is go to customer service, show their out of state ID, and get the coupon/discount.

It might be cute to include some Chicago food treats too.... Wrigley gum, Fannie May candy (they have mini boxes for 1-2 pieces, bars, etc), little bags of Garretts popcorn ..sure there's plenty others I'm forgetting now.

Maybe this might help, my FI and I have been discussing ideas for our bags (since we too have a lot of out of towner).

We wanted staples like water and some treats.
We also wanted somethings Chicago, Garrett's Popcorn, maybe Fanny May Chocolates, we did discuss doing Goose Island Beer.
Then of course we wanted to get stuff about Chicago that the guest could use to in order to find things to do.

We have been debating about doing something extra for the guest that stay a week, like tickets to a museum or something like that.
