Vendor Reviews--Triad Area

Hello!  I got married on June 26th at the Weir Jordan House in Greensboro, NC.  Although I don't post on this board that often, I wanted to share information with brides getting married in the Triad area in the hopes that the information I share may be helpful to someone still searching for vendors.  Below is a list of my vendors and reviews:

Venu:  Weir Jordan House
We had our ceremony and reception at this venue.  It is a historic home with a lot of southern charm.  The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great.  The venue is nestled in the downtown area of
Greensboro and is very affordable.  The great thing about this venue is that brides and grooms can bring their own alcohol as long as they get a temporary permit.  This really cut costs for DH and I.  I also love the fact that the bamboo chairs pictured on the website comes with the facility.  You do have to use their caterer, but the prices are reasonable.  I do suggest that you meet with the caterer  in advance to ensure that she can provide you with the menu items that you specify.  Here is a link to the website:  www.greensborowomansclub.com/Event_Hosting.html">http://www.greensborowomansclub.com/Event_Hosting.html

Entertainment:  Foscoe Philharmonic
This violinist duo hails from
Raleigh, North Carolina but will travel to the Triad area.  They boast that they can play anything from Mozart to Motown, and they truly can.  Our guests were really impressed with them when they performed for our ceremony and cocktail hour.  Please visit their website at:  www.foscoephil.com/">http://www.foscoephil.com/ for more information. Reception Entertainment:  DJ Ronald BeverlyI learned of Mr. Beverly through a co-worker of mine.  He did an awesome job and he kept my guests on the dance floor the entire day.  He really made an effort to play songs that were special to DH and I.  Although he is not a traditional “wedding dj” he is affordable and did an excellent job and we were extremely impressed with his services.  He can be contacted at:  ronaldb@cityofws.org

Event Decor/Day of Coordinator:  Occasion of the Heart
This company provided me with a Day of Coordinator and all of the flowers and event decor for the ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour.  I was very disappointed with the service provided.  In my opinion, the manager, Tonya Hart, did not commit to my wedding vision as was discussed in our meetings.  I do not believe that I met with my Day of Coordinator in a timely manner to discuss the details of the wedding and when I met with her I got the impression that Tonya had not discussed with her my vision and the details.  She did not send me a copy of the wedding timeline in a timely manner and as a result I was not able to give the timeline to my other vendors in a timely manner.  Fortunately, my other vendors were professional enough to pick up her slack.  While I thought that the Day of Coordinator did a good job given the circumstances, I thought that things could have been better if she were adequately prepared by the manager.  I do not recommend this company.

Makeup Artist-Adrian Sledge-Ablution Day Spa
I loooooove her!  She was an excellent makeup artist.  She did my makeup for my e-pics as well as on my wedding day.  She does airbrush makeup for the bride that is looking for a natural look.  While her salon is in
High Point, NC she will travel to Greensboro and I believe she will also travel to Winston Salem.  I thought that she was pretty affordable as far as Airbrush Makeup Artist go ($65).  You can contact her at Ablution Day Spa (336) 869-2302

Cindy McFarland
She did our e-pics as well as our wedding pics and she did an awesome job!  Her photography style is more photojournalistic and she also jazzes up traditional photos.  Cindy is very easy to work with and really works with her clients to ensure that you are satisfied with the final product.  She is an expert story teller with her photography and she captured memorable and touching moments at our wedding.   Visit her website at:  www.cindymcfarland.com/">http://www.cindymcfarland.com/

I hope this helps someone.
