Re: Sandals St. Lucia

  • We stayed at the grande in St Lucia for our hm 4 yrs ago and just recently,March, went back. I booked both times through Sandals and booked the airfare directly through the airlines website. I have two detailed reviews as well as a few hundred pics in the link above my siggy pic. Hth and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
  • I used a great travel agent through sandals...we are going on our HM in october. Staying 3 nights at Halcyon (cheaper, more quaint and quiet) then 5 nights at the Grande in a swim up lagoon suite! Can't wait! Sandals is the best way to go...with all inclusive. You can go crazy with all of the room options which is where our travel agent came in handy. The great thing with Sandals is that you have access to use all 3 of the resorts (1/2 hr apart); they all have their own culture from what I hear. Grande has the best beach :) La Toc has great views if you get the sunset bluffs rooms but is a huge spread out resort. Halcyon is quiet and reserved, very quaint. Good luck w/your choice!
  • I used a travel agent.  We stayed at the Regency.  Pics and review in my bio.

    3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
  • We booked Sandals Grande for July. We called Sandals directly through their website to book the hotel, but we actually found cheaper flights on our own.

  • We used a Sandals Select travel agent as well-- super easy, it was all online.  I've heard to always use one of their travel agents bc you get more "tlc" when you get to the resorts.
We stayed at La Toc on the Sunset Bluff (the view is UNREAL!).  It is really big, but doesn't feel it, there are alot of small intimate areas.
The beach is nicer at the Grande and the Grande is more modern,  but we wanted a more islandy feel and didn't want to feel as though we always had people around.  We loved it, but I think it all comes down to what you want.
(I can you our TA's info if you'd like, just PM me.)

Tripadvisor is also a really great reference!
    Good luck!
  • Great reviews, thanks guys! My FI and I have just started looking and I always had my heart set on St. Lucia. I fear having to get up early to get a pool chair etc. though after reading some of the Sandles reviews on Trip Advisor. We're willing to spend 4K w/o flights but even these resorts seem to be out of that range if you want a nice room etc. We just want all inclusive, no kids, right on the beach :) St. Lucia is w/o a doubt just super gorgeous!

Of course I can't give you a review yet (wedding is in July), but I can tell you that we booked a concierge room at La Toc for 6 days/ 5 nights with flight included for $4700.  Our room isn't the BEST they have, but we are excited about it!! I used a travel agent.  I have her information if you need it! PM me!

Thanks! That's great, I was playing around with the website (not the easiest to use in my opinion) and had trouble finding concierge rooms for that range. I'll look more into it :)Have a fabulous time!!
  • Also don't rule out the Halcyon....it's the cheapest resort of the 3 for sandals but it's still very nice :) We decided to book 3 nights there then go tot he Grand for the remainder of 5 nights. Grand is definitely the priciest so if you can't afford it, dont' rule out the others- La Toc or Halcyon as you'll have the chance to use all amenities, restarants from each resort. Check it out :)

We actually just talked about that last night after reading things on here - i love the idea of staying there 3 nights and The Grande 3 nights. I wonder if it'll be a pain to move everything? I love the more "islandy" idea of Halcyon :) Great suggestion!
  • I am jumping in here with another question- I am looking at Sandals St Lucia for my september honeymoon, are there any brides who went during the fall months/hurricane season? We really like St. Lucia, but I don't know what i am going to do with myself if we get there and its storming all week...HELP!
  • To Jenn- yes, I thought it's a great idea too split our stay....and get a feel for both resorts :) We were planning on trying out the other resorts while staying at one anyhow to use their amenities so it wont' be a big deal to actually "move" 3 days out. I think it will be exciting to start off at a nice place and end up at a GREAT place, like an upgrade :)

For Shelly- we are going to St. Lucia in October. You just need to get travel insurance that's all. You could then just reschedule if worst came to worst! Although there are risks, it would be rare for it to be stormy....
