So I think I found my florist...

... and its Barb at Belak's.  Thanks Brit and Steph for your rec.  She was very professional (which is imporant to me) and knowledgeable about her work.  We had a very good meeting on Saturday and after mulling it over for a few days, I decided to go with her.  I plan on letting them know and making the first deposit within the next week.

CHECK that off my list!

Thats great! Do you get mock ups of her work? I know some florists will do that.

YAY!!!!!  I am sooo happy for you!

She really is very knowledgable about her work, and very observant too.  I had no idea what I wanted, and through her watching me go through her albums, she was able to determine "the look" I wanted.  She is amazing, professional, and so sweet!  And her prices are not bad either!!

I believe she does do mockups, correct me if I am wrong...

Congrats!  Barb is awesome, you will not regret your choice :)

Yes, she does mock ups...  She will give 1 thing free - usually either the centerpiece or the bouquet, up to you.  If you choose to have both done, 1 is free, 1 is 1/2 price.

She's going to do a mock up of the centerpiece because I want something unique.  Had I known that the shop was just 2mins away from where I live, I would have gone to see her sooner :)

Now on to hair/makeup, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower (they want to know what I want to do), tastings and gathering addresses to send out the STDs...

I think I am going to have her do the bouquets (mine and probably one of the bridesmaids).  Since my hall includes centerpieces, I am just using what they have (though I am hoping and praying because she was trying to get on the preferred vendor list for the centerpieces- it would make it sooo much easier on me!).

Have you thought about where to go for all that stuff?

I started calling hotels today- pricings aren't as bad as I thought.  The fact that I am playing them one against another probably helps :)

I think I have resources for almost all of my new to-do's except for hair and makeup.  I've collected info on a few restaurants for the rehearsal dinner, I just have to sit with FI to narrow it down to 1 or 2 favorites.  The cake is included in my package, so I'm using a vendor chosen by my reception site.  I'm just waiting for a return call to schedule the tasting appt.  My reception food tasting is scheduled in February.

We have family/friends from all over (NJ, NY, PA, MD, FL) so I'm probably "hosting" the shower at my apt complex because its centrally located for everyone.  I have to reserve our community room for the day (its very nice), and my BP will take care of the rest.
