I was an event planner for years, and one thing I used to do a lot is get red and/or white roses in bulk, and red/white cranberries. Short wide round glass vases. Fill with water and cranberries, then add roses. ie: White cranberries can also be used really well with pink roses, because they often have a pinkish tinge. Gorgeous.

People always think beach, but I love our cranberry bogs.

Oh, definitely- Hydrangea are a great budget DIY flower for bouquets and centerpieces, because you get a lot of bang for the buck! Depending when your wedding is, if they're in bloom, it's even cheaper. My parents have tons of hydrangea exploding at their place in Sandwich right now, so if you live on Cape and have some plants, then it's also a great source for them. Hand tying bouquets is actually a lot easier than it looks. A simple low round or square vase with some hydrangea surrounded by votives is lovely and classic!

Both offer them in bulk. Alstroemeria is a great inexpensive filler for a pop of color,
or some traditional roses are always nice!
