Bring it somewhere else to have it altered! You'll save $ and stress.

I got my alterations done at DB and had no problems at all.  I used the store in Wayne.  My mom also had alterations done to her dress there and they did a great job.

Especially if you are adding pieces, I would do it DB, because if they mess up they will have to get you a new dress.  If you go somewhere else and they mess it up when adding pieces you will be out of luck.

This. I was in a wedding a few years ago and our bridesmaid dresses, as well as the bride's gown, came from there. We had someone else do the alterations because David's Bridal charges an arm and a leg.

I agree with the take it elsewhere suggestion. At the very least I suggest avoiding the Paramus store. I had a bridesmaid dress altered there and found them extremely lacking in customer service and it was super pricey.

Just be aware that the DB on Rt 46 in Wayne is still not open from the early March flooding.  I wonder what happened to the dresses that were in the store waiting for alterations??

It really depends on what you are getting.    I actually got a quote for both my dress and my mom's dress at a local seamstress and DB did if for cheaper.    It wasn't a huge difference but it was less.

I had my dress altered at the paramus store and it was fine. I only had it hemmed and a bustle done. I think it was about $135 for everything. They charged a little more for my bustle because it was more then 5 points....I think it had an extra 2!

I used to work at davids bridal not too long ago, and they charge so much for everything! if its just a bustle dont go anywhere else. but if you need a lot of work done, go somplace else, it will be cheaper and you'll get a better job done. good luck and congrats on finding your dress!

I heard horror stories about the alterations department at the Springfield DB.  FI's mom bought her dress there and I made sure she brought it elsewhere to be altered... she wound up bringing it to Hollywood Bridal in Kenilwoth and they've been great so far!

I have to say, even though I've heard bad stuff about the Springfield store, and hate it overall, I was a BM about 4 yrs ago, and we had our alterations done there (along with the bride) and had no issues whatsoever. That being said, I probably wouldn't risk it for my wedding.

Yeah, I'm sure it's one of those hit or miss situations, but the daughter-in-law of one of my colleagues got her wedding dress from there last year and they completely botched it up.  I had heard other (albeit more minor) issues that girls had experienced at that store in particular, but the one from my colleague is what pretty much sealed the deal for me when it came to my FMIL's dress.
