  • I bought this off eBay. It was white. So I just spray painted brown, put some fake moss in the bottom and made a little tag. Card holder complete!

  • At this point I have NO idea! I saw someone on TK selling a beautiful birdcage in my color but idk if I want one of those or just a box...

  • I am making a card box that looks like the question mark blocks from the Mario Bros. video games, since FI and I had a Mariothemed proposal. I actually found the tutorial in someone's planning bio here on TK, but can't post the link right now since I'm knotting from my phone.

  • We are going to have a birdcage for cards.

I love the look of this one, from etsy.com, but would rather craft it myself:

  • I haven't decided yet. I made one for my MOH's wedding  and it was easy to make. But I do like the look of birdcages. I tried to buy one off of Kijiji but the seller was not being cooperative. Le sigh.

My mom is having someone she knows make this for us:

    Can't wait to see it!
  • DIYing this since I love how it matches our Tiffany blue theme...

I bought a plain card box off of Amazon.  I found Tiffany blue wrapping paper at Target to cover the box with and I bought white ribbon for the bow.

Mine is just a card box from a craft store. Someone gave it to me from their wedding...you can't beat free! its white satin, shaped like a treasure chest, has a back ribbon going around the middle with a rhinestone buckle on it.
    for siggy
  • ok, i know i'm outing myself as ridiculous for not knowing, but what is a card box? :P

  • I am doing this...re using my sister's card box, she used it, and then my two cousins used it, we just switch out the pictures and switch up the colors...
(my sister said she may start from scratch, but i told her its whatever to me, just make it look nice, i love creative sisters who are helpful)
  • We are thinking of doing a wooden crab or lobster trap but haven't been able to find a nice looking vintage one yet.  We want to include some of where fiance grew up (long island and he does a lot of fishing/crabbing/clamming) in the wedding so I thought this would be good way.  Or else I am looking for a decently princed vintage trunk.

The card box holds the cards that your guests give you as gifts on your wedding day.  It usually goes near the placecards/guest book during cocktail hour and then moves into the reception area so guests can just drop the cards in the box.
    Anniversary
  • I am not doing one for this wedding b/c we do not want any gifts...but for the first one I used a birdcage.

  • I was thinking of using a bird cage but the more I think I about it I will probably make a card box with boxes from Hobby Lobby.

  • I made this for our cardbox. Bought the suitcase last summer at a garage sale for $3. Had to buy fabric to outline it. And made the CARDS sign.

  • FSIL got married in October a few years ago and they used a birdcage so I'm just borrowing that.  She painted it from white to a copper/brown, put  fabric in the bottom, and added some leaf garland to it so it fits in PERFECTLY into my theme.  Plus FREE!

  • This is our Wedding Card Box.  I found it on Etsy, along with a bunch of other great ideas for DIY projects.
