Short or Long?

So these are my nails after I did a first job of painting the tonight with a new polish. Anyway I have always hated that I have short nails and they really don't grow. My father has always been on me to try and grow out my nails all my life, and I have tried. I really want try gels for fake nails because I hear they are more natural like than acrlicys. However my FI says he really likes my short nails and is dead set against the idea of fake nails. It upsets me because I actually think my nails are really ugly as they are, but any time I mention it he immediately argues back about them.

Do you ladies know of any good product to help grow nails naturally, or what would you do in this situation?

My nails were terrible until I started going for regular manicures and using NailTiques formula #2 on them. (DO NOT BUY NAILTEK...the cheap asian places sell this knock off and it's awful) I get NailTiques at Bed Bath and Beyond or Walgeens.

My nail lady says I have the weakest nails she has ever seen but now people think mine are fake because they are long and pretty. I swear by NailTiques. And I hate fake nails, so I can't give you the vote you want on that. lol!

There is a clear polish called Duri. It's around $10 or so on ebay, which is where I buy mine. If I don't use it, my nails peel and chip around the corners. I've never had success with any other product, such as hard as nails, nail magic etc. I will never need to get tips on my nails b/c they look beautiful. I always get compliments. Your nails stay strong and hard, so you don't have to worry about being careful. I work out with heavy weights at the gym frequently, and they never break.....only very rarely.

How long did it take these formulas to work. My nails are strong but they just don't grow. I was told pre-naital vitamins work also, do you have experience using this as well.

I wouldn't take vitamins unless you are deficient somewhere. I would say you would see some great growth in a good month. Right now, mine are at a manageable length, but I HAVE to file them down every week. Maybe it's the Duri. I hate acrylics because they destroy your nail beds and leave them super thin. I would give it a shot with the Duri. It's $10, and if you're unhappy after a month then try something else. I kinda consider myself a ''product whore,'' and it's def the best I've tried.

My nails are the same way and I hate my nails too. YOu absolutely must get pink and white acrylics with rounded corners cut short. Your nails will look stunning and natural and short. They won't look fake and long like your fiance is thinking of. They can make the white part really short so it looks natural like a real nail. I recommend Koi Nail Spa in Sanford. They did mine and I was happy with how natural they looked.

well if I try anything fake I would try gels, they are slightly more expensive but I hear they don't hurt your nails as bad and are more real looking. I love the look of your nails but my fiance would think they look fake (he is silly). I just dont get why he thinks short nails look better I think they so unfemine.

edilils: I love trying new products too just don't have the funds to go and buy everything at sephora though I wish haha. if you love products you should watch lollipop26 on youtube. She is one the best makeup and product informers on an amature level. I have gotten good make up and hair products from her tests and companies send her products because they know she has a such a huge fan base.

i was just coming on to tell you this! it's the biotin in them that works. if you want to save money, you can get biotin tablets by themselves at walmart, target, any drug store, etc. :) the combination of biotin and NailTiques #2 is what worked for me!
