**Peeks back in** Did we survive another Knotpocalypse this morning???

Morning guys!  Hopefully this thing will stay up and running (well, besides the wingdings that are currently inhabiting the right sidebar).  My E friends and I have been having a conversation on Facebook instead....  My inbox has exploded, lol.

Anyway, it's my last day at the university!!!!  Woot!  Off to my big kid job on Monday!

I think that's all I've got for now.

Ditto with the Wingdings... very odd!

Enjoy the last day in academia and getting ready for the new job!  Four years was more than enough for me.. can't even imagine 10!!  I was interning my butt off and so excited to escape school for a real job.   What type of work will you be doing in your new position?

It's basically materials analysis.  I don't know exactly what my first project is yet, but a general description of my position is that I take what the synthetic chemists make and evaluate it before it gets put into the product.

I'm not seeing any odd Knot-ness on my end... Maybe I missed all the "fun"?

Enjoy your last day at the university, Docta, and good luck on the "big kid job."

Today's starting out kinda foggy/gray here in SoCal, but it's not like I can enjoy any weekday sunshine anyway - I work inside with my back to the window.  At least, until my department moves to another part of the building in a few weeks.  Maybe I'll at least be lucky enough to see a window from my new desk (without turning around).

I'm feeling super blessed today, too.  I was having a rough time with stress last night, and FI just... sat with me, and then he took the lead on our rosary last night (usually we switch off).  It's moments like those, and like this morning when he acted like last night was all normal, that I realize how blessed I am, and see that this is really the right road for my life.

Today's TK fiasco made me realize the severity of my knotting addiction. On the upside - I got a lot of work done this morning :)

I was going to post this question, but will ask here instead - what did you call your priest in your program? Presider? Officiant? I feel silly emailing my preist to ask him what he prefers to be called. He has way more important things to do.

Hope everyone is having a good day :)

    Happy Thursday to everyone!

Kama, don't you love those moments when you can't help but feel so lucky?!  I feel that way all the time with FI.  It's little things -- like when he comes over and I'm cleaning in the kitchen and have taken out the trash bag, but haven't taken it outside yet, and he'll just pick it up and run it to the dumpster without asking...that's so sweet!  And it's also the big things -- like when I have gotten upset over big and small things in life, and he's just handled it so perfectly and never makes me feel silly for crying!

They were doing "upgrade" maintenance...  But, as usual, things did not go smoothly.  TK's IT department is never very on top of things.  There are glitches all the time (like if you ever see posts listed in Central Time instead of Eastern Time, chances are the posts will end up out of order).  That happens at least a couple times per month.

I have yet to see major server maintenance go as planned.... and I work in e-comm!  Minor tweaks, usually no biggie at my work.  Big ones? sometimes hours at a time.  Sometimes they have to go back in, too, because they fixed one thing but then 3 others are mysteriously broken.

Hey NOW! Don't blame the IT department! I work in IT and why is it EVERYONE hates us!!  lol jk

But I work in Project Management, a readers digest version of what I do is make sure the implementation goes smoothly on all the projects-- I love asking the users over and over again "We are changing *this this and this,* will this affect you?"

    **crickets**

There is only so much research I can do without your input! You're the USER!!! TELL ME HOW YOU USE IT!

Sorry, rant... I have seen that a lot at work lately

I actually have much love for IT.  Both the hardware and the software side of things.  They tend to get the lousy end of the stick when, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have a job in the first place.

My regular joke whenever any part of our system crashes without warning, though, is "whoops!  Somebody spilled soda in the server room!"  What's sad, is one co-worker actually thought I knew for certain that's what happened.....

    No offense meant :).

If you hang out on TK enough (not just the forums, but the whole site), you'll notice it's ridiculously glitchy.
