NWR- Government Shutdown

Is everyone prepared for this? They are not playing nicely so it looks like they are going to shutdown tomorrow at midnight. I know if they do then I can not report to work on Monday since the IRS is CLOSED and wont be processing any REFUNDS. This is a huge mess... What is your feelings on it?

    Girl, this couldn't have come at a worse time. I also work for the feds. We had a meeting this afternoon to talk about shut down procedures. All I kept thinking was "thank God we get paid on the 15th as scheduled). At least the wedding'll be over after that. I also paid my mortgage, condo fee, gas and electricity bills ahead of time. Since those are my biggest monthly expenses.

    Now its a waiting game. What irks me is that we've been told if there is a shut down, we still have to report to work on Monday morning and THEN we'll be told to go home. Seriously? They subsidize our transit so in essence, money that could be saved will be wasted telling people to come in only to send them home 2 - 4 hours later. SMH!
    As the folks in this area say, "just another day in Washington".

    According to the information we got yesterday, we are supposed to get paid for PP 7 (if you're on the GS pay scale). I think we're on the same cycle. My money just appears in my account on Saturday as opposed to Monday.
    We were told to get our time sheet certified and in by 10am this morning though. So you if you haven't already done so, you might want to do that.

    yeah all managers were called in to update the system so the money will be released. Now the question is it gonna hit on the 18th or this weekend?

    I'm not a fed employee, but this saddens me just the same. I will keep y'all lifted. Please don't let this foolishness get you too discouraged. God is the ultimate provider and He's going to make a way out of no way. I believe.

    They reached a deal.....Thank you Jesus! I don't know why they think they can just play with people lives like that.....just do your darn job like we are expected to do everyday! I wish we could do their annual or mid year performance review, because they would be fired. Now I don't have to worry about a shutdown and can enjoy my leave next week. :-)
