Funny teenagers...

So I have 4 boys (3 are teens) and my FI has none. Yes he must be nuts for marrying into this chaos.

So yesterday, i'm sitting on the couch with my laptop. The teenagers see iTunes and immediately become interested. "Are you buying music for us??"  Me: No I'm looking through lists of wedding songs, looking for some non-traditional music to play.  They actually were still interested and started naming off songs. Then it turned funny, here's they're suggestions:

Welcome to the Jungle
Hotel California
Crazy Train
Teenagers ("scare the living sh** out of me")

lol.

I think it might be fun to actually let them pick the song for a few things, or at least help make the choice!

Wow, 3 teenage boys. Good for you!

Most of the people at our wedding will be over 40, even older. But we both have kids. In my opinion, it's kind of hard to dance to screamo, or rap, so we'll probably let our teens pick one or 2 songs TOPS. They can nominate "dance-able" songs that won't frighten our 80 yr old parents. Laughing

LOL...I love teenagers...Between my fiance and I we have 3.  They will each be able to have a few friends there, too, so the music could take a turn at any point!  Needless to say, it'll be interesting!

BTW, my 17 year old daughter is my MOH.  She's excited beyond words!

    Have fun!

We negotiated on rap. I've banned rap, and they've banned anything from a Disney-ish singer (Jonas Bros, selena gomez, etc.).  I think it's a great compromise.

But I'm liking welcome to the jungle, lol. Who couldn't use a little Guns n Roses at a wedding? ha.

They helped pick a few songs... They pointed me to Bob Marley, one from Cake, Rob Thomas, and Jimmy Eat World. Plus my picks from Norah Jones, Dave Matthews, and Van Morrison. this will be eclectic mix, eh? But hey, that's what it's all about.

How about Ladies and Gentleman by Saliva?

A year or so ago, there was a question on this board: If you could walk down the aisle to any song, what would it be? And that was my choice.  Ladies and Gentleman by Saliva.

Second Choice:  Goo Goo Muck by the Cramps.

I'm shocked at the My Chemical Romance pick. Oh, wait, no I'm not. Lol. My Emo daughter's favorite band.

    Those are great. Smile

When my sister got married, I dedicated "Where's Your Head At" by Basement Jaxx to my new brother-in-law. He thought it was hilarious. My sister was not amused. I thought it was great...shame she has no sense of humor, lol.

I think it is just awesome that your teenage boys are so interested in your wedding and want to make suggestions. So far all I get from my 18 year old daughter is a shrug. I can't tell if she's really not interested or if she is just being her usual difficult self. My son is away at Navy bootcamp and isn't involved at all at this point.
