New and Just Engaged!

Hi there Ladies!

My name is Heather. I just became engaged on Christmas Eve. My fiance and I live in the Washington DC area but we are getting married in Seattle- my hometown. He is from Hammond, Louisiana (and yes- unfortunately for us- a die-hard Saints fan...we're already trying to overcome his loss last weekend lol). We will be marrying in my home church but are coming to Seattle this weekend to check out reception venues. We prefer a hotel because we will likely have a lot of out of town guests. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions

Washington Athletic Club is running a special right now, and I think they are having a "open house" type thing this weekend. THey have some BEAUTIFUL rooms to hold your ceremony/reception. A bit out of FI and my price range, but gorgeous none the less. Seattle just had their annual Wedding Show last weekend, so lots of venues will be happy to hear from you.

There really are tons of places we could suggest, but knowing your budget for the venue, as well as how many people you're thinking of inviting would be great. I'd hate to suggest somewhere that would completely not work for you.

Congratulations on your engagment! I don't know what your price range is, but the Edgewater Hotel is beautiful, and I'd also recommend The Marriott on the Waterfront. We also had our company holiday party at Hotel Andra last year, which had a very nice space for a reception. Good luck!
