We went for fun and quirky - especially since the cocktail hour started right after the ceremony (all in the same location). We used "If I Could Give You More" by Harry Connick Jr.

If I asked my husband he would have just looked at me and say "what in the hell do I care?" lol. Although I do agree that every bride should talk with their FI about details, some, like my DH don't want a single thing to do with wedding details.
He was adamant about the first dance and knowing what it meant to him I didn't even consider anything else (This Kind of Love by Sister Hazel). We agreed on what the WP will enter to (Kisses and Cake from the PS I love you soundtrack). I'm walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of Grow Old With You from The Wedding Singer. What I'm getting at is that I'm not making decisions without his input :-)
I want Forever by Chris Brown or Signed Sealed Delivered by Stevie Wonder. The only song he likes for that purpose is I Do by Colbie Callait....which is cute but I think it'll be popular. I wanted to be a little bit different.

Another one bites the dust is the garter toss song :-)
We wrote out the lyrics in our program and had the pastor invite the guests to sing along. It was a lot of fun. We had sung a few hymns ealier in the ceremony so people were already in a singing mood.
We've been trying to find rock ideas for our recessional. Right now we're considering "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles and "Maybe I'm Amazed" as covered by James Durbin.

Haha, that's our song.
And Tiffannie: Winter is the best movement!
And NEY, but if I had to make a choice right now, I'd open with the first part of The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra and exit to the finale.
Home by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes - FI says its his song for us - but its too fast of a song to have our first dance song too, so were leaving the ceremony to it
my FI is super traditional and probably wont let me do All you Need is Love... but i think my organist [ also my bff ] can take something classical and interlude a bit of beatles into it for me without it being obvious...and then we are both happy...
My brother & SIL exited to the Alabama Fight Song, complete with brother & all male attendants donning houndstooth hats ala Bear Bryant. My brother was shocked!
A friiend & her DH exited to "At Last". They were in their late 20's/early 30's & had given up on finding love.
