DIY question Water bottle labels

I may be on the wrong board asking (may have to ask this on the DIY board)...

So I just started creating labels for the water bottles, printed one (trial and error) and I was wondering is "regular" cardstock ok to use? or should I go to some waterproof paper (if it exist) we are planning to put these water bottles in buckets with ice for guest just to grab. But I'm worried if the label gets to wet the print will run

Has anyone had experience with DIY labels?

If you're printing them yourself pretty much anything you print on will run in water, the only thing that I can think to do is to do it on card stock and laminate them. I'll do some researching and see if I can find a stock that won't run.

If you're looking for a cheap way to DIY labels, try the online site www.labelsbythesheet.com the labels are really really cheap (the more you buy, the cheaper they are) and they have waterproof labels. My work uses them all of the time for water bottles and other products that get wet, and they always print well, stick well, and keep the color/images well!

Definitely use the waterproof labels from labelsbythesheet. They are awesome. I haven't tried using them with an inkjet, but they work great with a laser printer and won't run at all.
