Outdoor location - Winter Park

Hi!
Any suggestions for where to hold an outdoor ceremony in Winter Park for a bride on a budget?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome - the suggestions can vary depending on what you consider a budget and how many guests you're anticipating. There's Polasek Museum (completely outside), Leu Gardens, Winter Park Farmer's Market, Casa Feliz (where EricaK and I both got married - it's flippin' awesome), Mead Gardens, Winter Park Raquet Club, Maitland Art Centre... there's a wide range. If you have any more specifics we can probably help you a little more! :)

she covered all the places I can think of. The Winter Park Farmers Market (I am having my reception there) is nice because it has a patio where you can do your ceremony outside and then go inside for the reception. Leu Gardens, the ceremony is in the one of the garden locations they have and the reception in inside in the ballroom.

Another Farmer's Market girl here! We're on a budget as well and will be having the ceremony and reception there. The rental of the building on a Saturday from like...4-midnight is $1200, I think...(including a $300 refundable deposit if all is well when you leave).

Have fun choosing!! Lots of good options in town! =)

I am def on a very small budget too and the Farmers Market worked well within my budget. My parents live in Winter Park so we got an extra 15% off because we are WP residents. You should get that % off with all of the WP city owned buildings.

I'm getting married at the Mead Garden Amphitheater and having the cocktail hour and reception at the Farmer's Market.  The wedding is in October, so I'm hoping for cool weather!  We initially wanted to do the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception all at the Farmer's Market, but there just wasn't enough room for everything, so we moved the ceremony to Mead Garden.  It's very pretty, super-inexpensive (around $225 for a 2.5 hour time frame) and you do not have to put a separate deposit down if you're also renting a City of Winter Park venue for your reception.  Really depends on what size wedding you're having...the amphitheater has seating for a few hundred, but the Farmer's Market can only seat about 180-200 max.  Good luck!

It's more College Park, but I got married at Dubsdread and the people there are AMAZING. All the pricing is on their website:

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions!  We looked into Leu Gardens, and it seemed at little pricey at $750 for just the ceremony...and we had heard the Farmer's Mkt was much more than what some of you mentioned.  I want to look into Mead Garden (we went by on Memorial Day, but it was closed).  I think that Casa Feliz might be a little too small and pricey - we are looking at close to 150 guests and want to spend less than $500 on the ceremony.  For the reception, we are planning to rent a floor/tent to set up on my fiance's parent's lawn - they have a few acres in Lake Mary.  However, we want to do the ceremony in WP, where I live :)  Thank you again for the help!

I also explored as many low budget options as possible. I did look at Carl T. Langford Park. Its right near downtown WP. There is a cool gazebo thing if you are willing to work with some logistics. I think it was only like $80 to reserve it. It only seats 75, but when we looked, we were thinking some standing, some sitting. Its worth a look. I erased my pictures, or I would send them to you. http://www.cityoforlando.net/fpr/html/PDFs/LangfordRentalFees.pdf

Just a thought... as a guest at weddings, I hate traveling between a ceremony and reception site, especially for the distance you mentioned. I get worried about being late, getting lost, etc, no matter how good the directions are. You might want to look at locations closer to Lake Mary as well, FWIW.

Casa Feliz will definitely be too small for 150 (are you inviting 150 total or is that how many you anticipate showing up?) so I'd nix that one, too. You could do the ceremony at the same place as the reception, and then you wouldn't have to pay any rental fee. Just sayin'! :)

I'm getting married at Leu Gardens, and you're right it is a little pricey for the ceremony. BUT I'm getting married on a Friday morning, so we get the meeting rate on the reception. $400 instead of $750. Odd times often equal lower prices!

    More good points, thanks again!
We anticipate close to 150 attending - I would like it smaller, but have been blessed w/a larged extended family.
We were concerned about the distance too, but think that we will have shuttles to the reception site from the hotel (which will be in Lake Mary) - this is just an idea right now - everything is really!

I know it's not in Winter Park, but Lake Mary Central Park would be a great place for an outdoor wedding.  I actually saw pictures online somewhere of a wedding and reception that were held there, and it was really beautiful.  It's also dirt cheap.  There's a gazebo on the grounds, too, so that's an option.  Here's the link to the website: http://www.lakemaryfl.com/central_park.cfm.
