Federal Ballroom?

Has anyone had or been to a reception at the Federal Ballroom?  If so, what are your thoughts or opinions about it?  The price for the location makes it almost too good to be true!

    The room rental for the federal ballroom is pretty standard for New Orleans - $4,000 (same as BOT, more than Wax Museum, same as gallier's, etc...) but the "package price" runs lower because their preferred caterer is NOT from new orleans... he's out of a suburb, and therefore more reasonable - but also less gourmet than others we've tasted.

    Anywho, I'm getting married there in October 2012 - but we're going to use Pigeon catering (you are not married to their caterer if you want to outsource!)

    Meh.  My fiance and I went and looked at the Federal Ballroom, but we didn't fall in love with it.  The ballroom itself has rows of HUGE columns throughout the entire room, making it seem kinda chopped up.  Guests have to take this very small elevator up to the upper floor where the reception actually is.  And we weren't crazy about making our wedding guests pay so much to park for the reception.  But the staff did seem amazing, though!  And the package was great.
