waialae country club???

Anyone know anything about this club? for ceremony and reception with oceanview n no tourists. Im a newbie and super stressed. Got engaged in May and we weren't planning on having a wedding til march of 2013. Last month my mom had a stroke and is now recovering greatly but it made me realize I want to get married sooner. Life is short and I want her there. So we're planning it for March of 2012. We live in Texas but his parents live in Hawaii and that was one of the few places they found available.

    I don't know many details about having a wedding there - but it's really pretty! We had our senior prom there. We looked into it for our wedding, but decided to go with another location. Though, a friend had hers there. The ceremony was outside and oceanfront (but not on the sand), with the reception inside. The room has a bunch of windows looking out as well.
    Does your FI's family have someone who is a member there? You need a member to sponsor your event if you guys aren't.

    If you have a member to sponsor you, it's a great venue to consider!  It was one of the places we considered, but ended up not choosing it because my cousin just had his wedding there.  I like the spot because you get the beach and the view without the crowd of Waikiki and it is more convenient than driving out to the other side of the island.  The food is pretty good and the lunch buffet is really reasonable.  I wrote a little about it on my blog:

    They recently renovated the dining room/reception area.  We're going to another wedding there in September, so I'm interested to see what it looks like now...

    Thanks so much for asking, but I think I'll be okay. His mom has been helpful. They told me there is a room that opens right by the ceremony is that could be used for the reception, Thats the only thing I'm wondering about.
