Orchids!?!?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a winter wedding for next year and I would love to have vases overflowing with white Phalaenopsis Orchids on each table.  We're having the wedding at a modern venue and they would look perfect in the space.  I haven't found a florist yet, but I've heard orchids are super expensive.  Has anyone used them in their centerpieces?  Did you go through a florist or make them yourself?

paelenopsis or moth orchids  are what you are looking for.Yes they are pricey and are not a flower I would recomend for DIY. They are very fragile.Have you thought about using a paelenopsis plant as a centerpiece?

I am  doing orchids for my center pecies and  one stem is between $18-23 a peice so its pricey. If you order in bulk its a little cheaper but  they dont ship very well.

<div>Ditto this, my florist told me it costs her $20/branch for the white phalaenopsis orchids.  That's not including labor or delivery.</div><div>
</div><div>You could order orchids from Sam's Club and DIY, but from what I heard, their white phalaenopsis usually don't arrive in good condition due to their very fragile nature.  On the other hand, their fuchsia dendrobiums usually get great reviews.</div><div>
</div><div>You could also buy potted orchids at $13 during a sale and display those instead.  They also make nice gifts, your guests will be fighting for them.</div>
