  We went to El Dorado Royale last August and had an amazing time.  We want to go back to Mexico again soon, and I almost don't want to check out any other hotel because we loved this one so much.  We never had a bad meal-- everything was great, lots of variety.  Our favorite places to eat were JoJo's..and also they have an Italian restaurant that is amazing...and an Asian place we went for breakfast it was SO good.  They have a ton of pools-- but we stayed at the 2 main ones..that is where most people hung out, and they had the swim-up bars there...and the activities pool.  Make sure you grab snorkels at the resort and check out all the amazing sea life at the beach at the hotel.. the huge sandbags make a natural coral reef, it was amazing and you see all kinds of fish.  They also had different shows each night which was cool.
  If you are looking to go off the resort, definitely check out Playa Del Carmen-- you can spend a lot of time there and there are all kinds of shops, restaurants, music, great atmosphere, etc.  If you are interested in doing an excursion, we had the BEST tour guide... his name is Captain Quickie-- look him up.  We had an amazing time with him.  We snorkeled in three different places (all very different) and then jumped on a catamaran and sailed for a few hours, with open bar and snacks.  They have a few different tours you can do, not just the snorkeling.  It was so worth it!

  We got back last week and LOVED it! I checked out Jojo's, D'Italia and asian restaurant and love it! Playa da Carmen saved us money when it came to souvenoirs. Thanks!
