Question about payment

Good morning :-)

My FI and I are getting married on 1/22 at a Catholic church we have been attending for a while.  Father refused to do anything but a full mass :-)   My question is this: how much do you pay Father and the rest of the people involved?  The church is not charging anything so we also have to figure out a good "donation" amount.

Church - donation $$ - ?
Wedding planner at Church - $175 (her fee)
Father - ?
Organist - ?
Cantor - $100 (his fee)
Altar Servers - we were told $20 each
Sacratins - ?
Eucharistic Ministers - ?

I'm at a total loss.

Church donation - this varies widely among parishes, I've heard anywhere from $200 to $1,000 or more (for really popular churches, huge cathedrals). You can ask the church wedding planner what people typically give and go from there.

Priest - he probably can't accept "payment" as such but a gift of $50-100 would be appreciated, I'm sure. A lot of people do gift cards.

Organist - should have a set fee. If not, offer him at least the same fee as the cantor.

Sacristans - our altar servers were also our sacristans, I think... so I would offer the same if they are different people.

Eucharistic ministers - our altar servers were also the eucharistic ministers so again, I'd offer them the same. If you're asking friends or family to do this role, then just get them a small gift.

    HTH!

    our "required" fees were:

    $100 church
    $100 priest
    $260 organist

that seemed like very little, especially considering we didnt have to pay for pre-cana.  so we then opted to pay additional:

    $100 priest
$40 each to 2 altar boys who served our mass

    total:  $640

    Our's were as follows:
    Church: $500
    Music: $300
    Pre-Cana: $65

I had a $75 required fee for the church (my mom is a member so we got the member price).  Then, we gave the priest a $100 donation on top of that.

The organist charged a $175 required fee, and we did not give him a donation because we felt $175 was enough.

As for pre-cana, we had to pay about $175 (I think) for NFP class taught through CCL.  We didn't have to pay any other fees because H and I are members of the church we took pre-cana at, and we tithe weekly to that church.

    = $525

My wedding isn't until April 30th 2011 but so far we had to pay  $100 to save the day and have to pay another $250 so a total of $350 to the church. for everything else i am not sure yet as I will find out Tuesday when i go  to the church.

We have also paid  ( marriage prep classes)
Couples Retreat $175 (we got a grant so only had to pay 1/2 of the $350)
    God's Plan $65
Family Planning $100 ( because we did it online)

     so far a total of
$440.  ( we budgeted for $1,000 for it so we aren't doing so bad yet)

The church itself cost us $750

Church - donation $$ - gave the recommended $250 for the priest and deacon
Wedding planner at Church - $175 (her fee)
    Father - ?
Organist - $150 this was set by the church
Cantor - $50 fee set by her
Altar Servers - we gave each $25
Sacratins - we didn't give any money here
Eucharistic Ministers - we had husband & wife friend from church help and we got them a gift card to a nice restaurant

Then we had to pay $300 for our EE Weekend.

    For mine:

Church-$650 (which includes the priest and deacon)
    Cantor-$150
    Accompanist-$150
    Day of Coordinator-$150
    Altar Servers-$10 each

This doesn't include the EE retreat ($250) and the NFP class (I don't know exactly where I need to do this but the place I looked at was $150).
