Fake rings on the ring bearers pillow?

We are having a backyard wedding and I am concerned that our ring bearer will see strangers and run and hide so with this said would it be bad to put fake rings on his pillow and give the real rings to our attendants? I don't want the actual rings lost in the grass.

I've heard of a lot of people using "stunt" rings for the RB to carry and the real rings are safe in the care of MOH/BM

Ditto. I think that a lot of ring bearer's pillows come with fake rings already attached.

I would never. The best man held the rings. The rings on the pillow were fake. You should have seen the dance our RB was doing with that pillow. Simple answer: No.

My RB is going to be 10 almost 11... and he's my little brother. If he likes breathing, he'd better behave with our rings... but since he's older, I'm not worried.

Never, ever give the real rings to the ring bearer!!!! The best man and/or maid of honor hold the rings. Even at an indoor wedding it is still a bad idea....

My two boy cousins are my RBs. They are 11 and 9 and will be walking down together. We are allowing them to carry the real rings. If they were any younger it would be an absolute no. But I lived with these two when they were 7 and 5 all the way up to ages 9 and 7. I trust them and they know how very special it is to carry the real rings.

The are going to meet the BM before the wedding so they aren't shy to hand him the rings. I have full faith my rings are in good hands!

When my son was 6, he was the ringbearer at a friend's wedding. He had fake rings, although afterward the bride regretted not giving him the rings because he was so well-behaved.

Now he's 10 and he's our best man, so he'll have the rings either way!

I have never seen the RB w/ the actual rings at any wedding I've been to.
Most RB pillows you buy come w/ fake rings already on them.

Our dog whose 10 is going to be our RB (beach wedding) so she will definitely NOT have the real rings w/ her! I'm simply ironing on Ring Bearer onto a green bandana that matches the groomsmen color green and FI is going to walk her down the aisle right before the flower girl.

Our RB is a bit older also, (age 10), so we're thinking of having him carry the actual rings, (firmly secured), to a pillow. The wedding is still a year away, so we could change our mind by then.

I think it depends on the kid. My nephew is 7 and he is going to have our real rings. He won't get the pillow until right before he heads down the aisle. And he knows he has to be careful - he calls it his "mission" to get the rings to my FI safe and sound and he'll be walking with his older sister, who is the flower girl, who will NOT let him misbehave. Throw in his mother who said she will not let him out of her sight and I think we're safe.

We are putting fake rings on the pillow. FI is going to hold the rings and right before the ceremony, give to the BM. I don't even trust him to hold them ahead of time!
