Glassware

So I was planning to register for Mikasa's "cheers" set, but I've seen several reviews that say they're very fragile (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?BRN=1&sku=13064296&).

What are you all registering for? And have you heard anything about this set? I'm honestly not always so gentle with dishes, so I figure I may need to keep looking.

I don't personally have Cheers stuff, but I know a ton of people who have & love them (they're very, very popular), and haven't had problems with them. Any glassware *can* be fragile, and very especially stemware. That said, the Lenox Tuscany Classics stemware is also really nice and maybe slightly more durable.

  • I'm registering for some of the Luigi Bormioli SON.hyx glassware just for this reason -- I'm a clutz.
  • They are gorgeous but very fragile.  I got them for DD/DSIL. They broke one, I bought them another set.  Learned last week they've broken a few more. I asked if they wanted more, cause they are really pretty, and they decided no because they break too easily.

This. I also registered for Macy's cellar wine glasses. They seem very sturdy!

  • I like crate & barrel's oregon and viv wine glasses - they're a fantastic price, nice and thin so they feel expensive, but they're quite durable.  I put mine through the dishwasher all the time and haven't had a problem with them.

  • Thank you ladies! I'll look at these options and decide what I want to do.
