Need help finding AMATEUR photographer in Houston PLEASE!!!!!

I do not want a fancy, expensive photography. Does anyone know of an amateur photographer in Houston looking to get some practice in and has super cheap prices?

It's October 9th.... I'm not picky at all, I just like to save money and pictures is something I can't see spending a lot of money on. I have heard people using amateur's and their pictures turned out fine..

Not sure about you but I am pretty sick of emailing vendors for pricing I love that they have pricing on the websites makes it easier!

We used Kristen Stewart for our engagement pictures and she was AMAZING. I mean REALLY amazing- in fact, I had 3 friends cancel sessions with others to use her. I also had her shoot my engagement party b/c she's so reasonable! I do photography on the side a little, and am SUPER picky and she was fantastic. She hasn't done many weddings, so I bet she would be VERY inexpensive and is looking to get into weddings. I can send you some samples of our engagment pics and pics from our engagement party, if you'd like! I am a photographer stalker (ha ha) and I think Kristen is someone who will be charging $3k for a wedding in about a year's time! She's incredible and her prices are unbelievable. Our engagement session (2 locations and 5 hours of she and her husband's time) with all of the images was $300 or so.

Honestly, IMO photos are something you shouldnt go "amateur" on, I have heard/read about brides who did this and their pictures came out horrible, it would be awful to hire someone without any experience, or someone just looking to enhance their portfolio - and then your photos not turn out. What is your budget for photography? If you give an idea of that the girls here can offer a great list of vendors. I would try and save on other things other than photography - you never get those memories back!

i just checked out Kristen Stewart Photography...shes awesome! I have Pink Posh doing my Bridals and Wedding day but I'm going to try and have her to my epics, party, and rehearsal dinner!! Family portraits too!

The question really is how amateur are you talking and how much are you wanting to spend? I am majoring in photography at Art Institute of Houston. Some of the students there already do photography for a living. They are just going to school to become even better. Thing with an amateur is I would look at there portfolio to see if you like it. If you like them do a bridal or engagement session with them first before you commit to the wedding. If they can't do something that is posed then they wold not be able to do the wedding photography.

i know her personally and professionally and she is budget friendly and does a great job. she has 2nd shot several weddings and THEN ventured out on her own. she was one of my photogs and she was mainly there for the photobooth but i saw her sneak some shots in too and i know the will be awesome too

as far as budget or amateur goes that is a personal preference, i would not just pick some one from craigslist but hearing from other brides or people that have had personal experiences with "ameteur" photogs would be the best route.

HEY KELLY did you ever find out a cheap price? I need the info also for jstratton. the site says 499 but whats included with that and for how long do they stay? Thanks and congrats. Also if you go on craigslist houston, there are many people willing to photo the wedding for next to nothing. They need pics for their portfolio.
