My fiance and I have been together almost 6 years. His entire family loves me and I love them. We get along great except for one person..... his mother. She absolutely can't stand me. I've tried being super nice and reaching out to her by asking for her help on numerous things dealing with our wedding but she either declines or helps but complains the entire time she is helping. I'm seriously at my wits end here. Perfect example to show how much she dislikes me - this past weekend was my birthday. In 6 years she's never missed it and at least said something to me about it. Well she ignored me the whole weekend and never even mentioned my birthday. Luckily that was the last straw that caused my fiance to finally see something was up with attitude and actions towards me. Up until now he tried to convince me it was all in my head..... Any suggestions at all?? Anyone else share this dilemma?
Re: Mother In Law Problems
Also, continue to let your FI piece this together himself, the more you resist and say that it's her, the more stress/strife you will cause him.
[QUOTE]Thanks for the advice... I'll just stay on the high road even though it can be very hard sometimes =)

Trust me, I know. :) Most of my FI's family dislikes me for religious reasons and has done everything they can think of to come between us. Fortunately, FI is a stand-up guy and decided we'd be better off distancing ourselves from them. I still wanted to invite a few of them to the wedding just to be nice, but he put his foot down. Just keep telling yourself that it's her problem, not yours.
