Need a DJ for September 2010

Hello!

I am new to this so I apologize if I have the format down wrong.  My fiance and I had planned on a NYE wedding but the venue we really wanted wasn't available so we decided to take September 18th 2010, so that's a bit closer than I had anticipated.  Does anyone have really good DJ recommendations?  I emailed one company that has like 6 DJs and they are booked solid with 3 people on a waiting list already.  It is important to me to have a great Dj and someone that can keep everyone dancing all night and read a crowd without being too super cheesy.  Any help is appreciated!

Stephanie

You can try our DJ for our wedding. The company is called answer back entertainment. We are using them. http://www.midwestvideoproductions.com/answer_back_entertainment.htm

You can try calling Style Matters DJs. They're amazing, and very popular, here on The Knot.

    Good Luck.

Thanks Kathleen!  That was the one that was booked actually with the waiting list.

I am going to try a few of these out, thanks for all the suggestions! :)

I'm using Windy City Mix which has gotten some bad press on the boards recently because there was a knottie that was only posting about him. But we met with him at the beginning of December and booked him for October 2010. He's really nice and professional and has some good deals if you book by the end of the year.

We're using Sounds Abound out of Naperville.  We specifically booked Mark Van Deventer as the DJ whom I have seen at two other friends' weddings.  He's really nice, has a cool accent (I'm horrible at determining accents, so I'm not certain where it's from), and has quite a wide range of music available.  One of the weddings he did had a lot of latin music, and the other was more traditional with country music mixed in, so he's got a lot of range.

I am using Mark Rankin from DJ-Chicago.  He has DJed a few of my friends weddings and does a great job. He is the owner of the company so there are other DJ's that work for him too.  I can only speak for how well he does though.

We are going to use Surround Sound Productions out of Woodridge.  They were the DJ for my parents anniversary party and did a great job!
