how are you addressing your escort cards?

Hi ladies,
we are having escort cards, so guests know which table to sit at but I'm not sure, how to address them:

Should i have individual escort cards (each guest their own) or one card go to each couple?
What if a guest brings a Plus 1 but I don't know their name?
how are you addressing your guests on the escort cards?

Thanks ladies!

Re: how are you addressing your escort cards?

  • I'm going to put each individual's name on his/her own card.  Mine will double as favors, so I want to make sure each guest gets one.  I've been asking everyone who's bringing a +1 for their names.

At other weddings, FI and I have mostly gotten one card for the both of us together.

  • I am just doing traditional tented escort cards. I think it would depend on what your's are. Like PP, if its also a favor, than one for each person might be nice. For mine, it will be 1 card for each couple. If I know the guest's name I will put their name on the card after my main guest's name. If I don't know the name I will just put, Mr/Ms xxx and Guest.

  • If they're not a favor I would do one per couple. If they're bringing a guest I would do the best you can to find out that guest's name, otherwise I think & guest is fine.

  • we're doing one per family/couple and if i don't know their guest it'll say, "and guest"  for example:

Crixus & Victoria Carter and family
    or
    Antonio & Jasmine Redman
    or
    Phillip Baker & Renee Sawyer
    or
    Owen Fields & Guest

i made up all those names... i was tired of john and jane doe haha

Lol. Love your made up names!

I'm doing cookie place cards and they will have first name only, since we don't have doubles of any names. And we only have like 30 people :)
  • I'm doing one for each person, but ours also have to indicate meal choice so we have to do it that way. And for guests, I left a line on the RSVP card for them to fill in their guests name, and so far that's working out great. :)
  • I am doing per couple...and Im trying to find out names of guests...if not then just guest! :)

  • We are only having 4 people bring plus ones so I'm not worried about getting those names. I will be doing one card per couple, like

    Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
     or
    Mr. John Smith
    Ms. Sally Sue
on a single card, much like how I addressed the invitations.

If you are doubling your escort cards as favors I would do one per person. If FI and I were somewhere and had to share a small box of candy we would have a problem haha.

  • I'm doing one per person because they also indicate what each guest wants for an entree. If yours don't have to do that, I think you'd be fine with one per couple/family if they are all sitting at the same table.  Or just doing a big seating chart instead!
