Bumping out my dress

So I ordered my dress online. I did try a similar dress at the store before I purchased it. I knew it was the one. My bridesmaid dresses came from the same site. The bridesmaid didn't have a issues but they ordered the size bigger. I didn't because a friend told me it was true to size. Well, it was not true to my size. I have two pounds to my goal weight and can not zip the dress fully. I do not want to any less than 125. If I can't fit the dress at 125 I will have to get the dress bumped out.

  • Yeah, I have someone to do it if it wont fit. Wish I didn't have to but I don't want to go lower than 125.  With my statue I would look like my 15 year old sister.

  • Haha yeah I hear ya. I'm hoping my top fits ok. It was a little loose near the boobs lol but when it was tied tighter it fit perfectly and they're putting cups in. They told me I can't lose any weight but I've lost a few pounds so hopefully I'll be ok
  • You can get alterations to get it made a little bigger, about an inch or so.

  • that sucks, i would always order a little bigger as it is easier to take in than out. How do you like it otherwise?

  • Aw, I'm sorry. :( At least you have someone who can fix it if necessary!

Confession: I've never heard of "bumping out" a piece of clothing.

Me neither! You learn something new everyday! :P

OP, I'm glad you have someone that can take it out a little. Have you thought of doing a corset back? It may be easier to put one of those in than to let the original dress out. And if you lose or gain a little, it will still fit like a glove!
