I confess that I'm really worried about my fitting today....

not because my dress won't fit.. I know it will..but because I don't want the seamstress to tell me that I can't lose anymore weight! I have some more work to do and I know I can do it... and really it's not because of my dress that I want to lose the weight...it's so I can look good in a bathing suit on the beach lol

I confess that I'm considering a major change career-wise and am just so on the fence and confused... ahhaha. Has anyone done this after establishing themselves in one career?

I have been wanting to do the same!! but I'm too chicken. I kind of changed but not technically as I'm still in IT.

Jen - Good luck with the fitting and hopefully the seamstress will work with you! I hear ya about feeling good in the bathing suit all week - that is my biggest concern too..haha!

My confession is that I am a little nervous about BM dress shopping this weekend. All 5 girls plus me are going. I have been thinking that it will be fine and everyone will agree on something - but the closer it gets the more I am realizing that might not be the case...but oh I hope it is!!! I know that they are all fairly easy going when it comes to this type of stuff..but it still makes me nervous! I think that I have seen too many bad episodes of say yes to the dress bridesmaids..haha!

TrudM - bridesmaids dress shopping made me nervous too! The dresses I loved none of the girls liked... not even my daughter! So I ended up not going with it and let them pick between a few others that I thought were nice... but it took awhile for them all to agree on one and there where only 3 girls!

Let me tell you though... I'm still sad they didn't like the one I wanted, I still wish we went with that one.. (it's the one that JLo wore as a bridesmaid in the movie back up plan...if anyone has even watched that movie besides me lol)

I'm sure you will still have a great time! Can't wait to see the dresses you pick!

I confess that I had a bit of a wedding meltdown last night. I was going over the budgetting and how much we're spending on everything and became SO overwhelmed by the idea of it (reminder, I wanted to elope) that I ended up telling FI I wanted to cancel the wedding...
We talked it through when I calmed down and I explained very carefully that its not the MARRIAGE I was referring to in any way, shape or form. There is no part of me that doubts I want to be married to him, its just the large wedding that frustrates me.

Britt -- I know how you feel, I think as the stress level goes up, it makes eloping sound even more appealing! Just keep chugging along... you've already knocked out a lot of great things!!

Lora what do you want to change your career too?? Jen good luck with your fitting. Can wait to see pics!! Trudy good luck shopping! I'm glad I don't have to do that ; ) Britt I'm sure it's overwhelming but you are doing an amazing job at creating a wonder wedding! You'll be so proud of yourself!! I confess I really wish I told people we are gettig married earlier! I feel less like a Bride because nobody talks to me about it....except for you wonderful ladies! I also confess that I really want a career change or just a job change so if my job changes due to the new system I'm not worried about it!

I confess I'm really worried about my first dress appointment Saturday. I'm not a dress person and I'm really self concious and worried that I won't find anything that looks good. I also don't do well with stress, and neither does my mom, and I'm worried this is going to be a meltdown situation. I've been trying to get excited all week but I'm just worried about the whole situation and not looking forward to it at all. I feel like I HAVE to get something since we're approaching 6 months, but I'm just so not enthused.

Like Lora, I also confess I want a career change....but I'm sticking it out until after the wedding only so I can have a full month off

Hi Ladies!

I confess that I have been a bit laid back with wedding stuff b/c I am studying for a very important exam that I NEED to pass this May. So of course now I have freaked out that I a) have no photographer b) may not have the money to spend on a decent one and c) my reception/welcome dinner will be so wack (for lack of a better term) b/c FI and I have established a budget that I think will not suffice for the kind of wedding I envision...which is not so over the top but I'd like it to not be like some last minute thrown together scrappy party :-/

I also confess that I am annoyed with a certain someone (i'd rather keep the 'who' anonymous lol) who keeps saying she's excited but it's not the wedding...she's excited about a vacation in jamaica. Now I know she was joking at first...but since she keeps saying it I kind of feel like there's some truth to it...also she's finally become excited about the whole destination wedding thing after she didn't seem too supportive at first and I feel her mood changed b/c of a certain situation which I have yet to share but that really bothers me (to say the least)

If I could change careers I would want to either be a teacher in a HS but not for core classes for either technology or art.

OR start my own business... something to do with art/design

I'm in IT now... I was in tech support for 10 years and desktop support supervisor 5. Now I'm doing IT program management... BLAH!!! but it pays the bills...lol

What are you thinking of going into Lora?

I wanna own a Hard ROck!!! That is so me and I was a waitress for 12 years so I'm familiar with the restaurant business. I'd never do it though so I'll just continue to travel to them all!!

I confess that I am not excited about going back to work on Monday. I confess that although we have been together for an eternity it seems I am so nervous about actually planning this wedding and actually getting married. Also, confess that It does hurt my feelings that those are calling me selfish for having a DW and makes me want to change my mind and that I have no one to talk to about wedding exept for the boards (so glad found you ladies)

Jen Good luck on your fitting I hope to look great in bathing suit too but i have a loooooonnnnnnggggg way to go...lol

Brit yes it is all extremely stressful makes eloping seem like better route but in the end you'll be glad you did it i'm sure

julyet06 wow I can imagine it being annoying for your mom to keep saying that instead of being happy to come to wedding. I find alot of people who are actually commenting on my wedding saying the same I guess I'm just happy that they are able to come share with me those who don't think I'm being selfish. I'm sure your reception will be beautiful not wack at all

Jen and Lora - I'm thinking of changing careers too, I just have no idea what I would like to do!
Julyet - I love your dress!!!
Trudy - I told my 3 bridesmaids to pick whatever style they want, I just gave them a color and asked them to pick the same fabric. Hopefully it will work out, they have good taste

I confess that I've been depressed lately with not having a job and not finding anything. I don't even have energy to go to the gym, I just want to stay home and do nothing.
I need to change asap. I just called an old manager at a restaurant and I'm gonna start working there next week. I need the money and something to do!

Jenn- I sometimes don't feel like a bride and we've told everyone about the wedding...I guess I am saying, don't sweat it! Like you said, these boards are enough to bring out the bride in us lol! Your day is almost here woohoooo!!!

Harr0610- good luck this Saturday! Just don't put too much pressure on yourself!

gummibear- we've gotten some comments and eye rolling but it's what FI and I want so we are basically just shrugging off the negativity (and the fact that no one has made an attempt to contact our TA...even the ones that have said they are definitely going) and trying to remember the reason for all of this is to begin a wonderful marriage so no matter who shares it with us, he is there for me and I for him!

Marcia- Thank you! When I tried it on I thought it would be great for a beach wedding! Sending vibes for things to turn around for you soon!

I am my own worst enemy. I am stressed but not over the wedding itself. I have overloaded myself and schedule unnecessarily. I accepted a third job when I shouldnt have as an adjunct professor (love it but I dont have the time). I more recently decided to acquire another rental property and just got approval from the bank. Great news, but I still dont have the time, plus I will have to split finances b/t it and the wedding.... What am I doing to myself?!

I want to go into nursing. I've been thinking about it for several years and think I just need to make the jump. I just don't want to end up in another career field that I end up hating... I found a GREAT master's program so we'll see.

Lora, nursing is a great field. I was one semester (2 classes) from getting my RN and I had to drop out. It's still very upsetting, but I actually don't think I'm made for it. You can do it!!!!

Lora- I've had nursing in the back of my mind for some time now. My mom had surgery a couple of months ago and I basically took care of her in the hospital and really enjoyed it. I don't know if I can/want to go back to school though. A friend of mine just finished in like a year and a half....and has three kids under 5 I think, so anything is possible I suppose.

My confession: Seeing everyone's checks is kind of freaking me out. Our money is tied up with the house that FI was flipping so I really don't have much money to work with at this point. Ahhhh

That's a great idea...just remember RNs dont do what the nursing assistants or aides do, so don't let that scare you away. I wanted to be a labor & delivery nurse or work in the OR, Floor nurses was not my thing.
