I want to give my fiance a gift on the wedding, yet I think it’s pretty stupid because we’re already spending so much freaking money on this wedding. I need to come up with something creative. I am going to try and get Sparty(msu mascot) to come and visit him before the wedding so he and his groomsmen can take some pictures with Sparty. Sparty will come dressed in a tuxedo too. Lame, but he’s a big msu fan and we don’t have enough time for Sparty to visit during the wedding and besides it’s kind of weird since I didn’t graduate from msu, only the groom did.

I need something creative and special. I wanted to get him an ipad, but with it being $500, I know he would get mad at me for spending that much. I don't know what to get him!

    I agree with you. I would love to get Fi a gift, but I think I will end up just writing a note because we are already spending so much. And the honeymoon is kind of like the wedding gift to ourselves! I might do something crafty, and creative that isn't too expensive.

    I think the mascot idea is so cute! I am sure all the guys would LOVE it.

    Apparently now that they have released the new iPad, the iPad 2's will be discounted (maybe just a rumour??)  I have an iPad 2 and it's pretty awesome.

    FI told me he doesn't want anything, but we might do love notes to each other and I want to get him something small anyways.

    Is your FI purcahsing his wedding suit or tux? I'm going to steal FI's jacket and have something monogrammed on the inside jacket pocket.

    No, he is getting his tux for free, but only as a rental. He won't be keeping it because he has no real need for it. Plus the tuxes are grey, so I think even he was to get a tux he would want a darker one.

    I have the first iPad and love it. They won't discontinue the iPad 2 but it's already cheaper. They upgraded some of the basics for the 3rd (pixels, resolution, speed, etc) so you'd be fine getting him a 2nd gen one for cheaper

    I'm a TV producer so I decided to use my talents and make him a video.  So I went and interviewed all of our married friends and all of our family (I had to totally lie to him where I was going for a full day because his family lives 2 hours from us) I asked them on question on camera- what is the secret to a successful marriage?  Some people were serious, some were funny.  I'm going to edit it together and play it at the rehersal dinner for him and everyone.  Hopefully I can keep it a surprise until then!

    I am of course writing FI a letter. We were going to get football jerseys with our last name on them and the numbers were going to be the wedding date, we decided they were too much since we were spending so much and we would get them afterwards.

    I still wanted to give him something though. We are both big Harry Potter fan so I am getting him a t-shirt and it says "always" on it (my shoes are embroidered with "always" as well)

    I also got him a keychain. It is hand stamped with "souldbound" (a reference to his videogame, World of Warcraft) and the wedding date!  They are small gifts but I know he will love them! :)
