My fiance and I are not having a wedding party, as we are having a small but formal wedding. He decided to buy a new suit instead of renting a tux and have it tailored so it really fits him well. My dress is ivory and our colors are dark purple and ivory. When he went to buy his suit today, the stylist at Nordstrom's had him pair his formal black suit with a light lavender dress shirt and a deeper purple striped tie. Of course, everything was pretty expensive and had to be altered, so it is a final purchase.
I love how everything looks - it's pretty stunning! To me it looks very formal, but I'm concerned - I've never seen a groom wear a colored dress shirt before. Even though it's a very light color, I'm a little worried it's too informal. He LOVES the look and I don't want to step on his toes - it's his outfit!
Thoughts? Is a colored dress shirt ok?
