Short vs. Long

I think I want short dresses for my maids, but I know my mom wants to wear a long dress and she keeps saying that if the girls are in short, then she has to be in short.  Is that true? I keep telling her I will be in long and so she can be too. 
It doesn't really matter does it?

    Not true.  Your mom can wear whatever she wants, regardless of what the BMs wear.  Granted, she may want to stick with the formality of everything, but length-wise she can wear anything.

    You're right. Your mom can wear any length dress, regardless of what the bms are wearing. Also, the MOB and MOG do not have to wear the same length.

    My BM were in short dresses and my mom was in a long dress.  I told the moms to wear whatever they're comortable in.

    Your mom does NOT have to match the BMs, my MIL was concerned about this, because my BMs were in tea length and my mom had her dress shortened to tea-length (because it looked better that way, not to match). I finally convinced MIL that her comfort and what she like was far more important than matching, she ended up going long and looked lovely.

    Your mom can do whatever she wants. She will be more comfortable that way. Also, if you are worried about pictures think about how many pictures your mom will be in with your wedding party...not very many, especially if your wedding party is non-family. No one will notice.

    My girls will be wearing short dresses for our afternoon ceremony and the moms will be wearing whatever they want :)
