BEWARE-Traveling

So, I just took a lovely trip to Vegas and guess what came back with my luggage, BED BUGS!  I didn't stay in my usually hotel, I stayed at a house that I am 100% sure was bed bug free.  I have already freaked out and moved on to ripping my house apart.  I have a guy coming this afternoon to spray.  What a complete nightmare.  Still have so much to do!

I just wanted to make everyone aware, that apparently bed bugs getting into your luggage from a flight is fairly common.  So if you are going to be traveling, when you get home. immediately put your suitcase and all the contents into plastic bags (can be garbage bags or a plastic tarp tied up)  Best if you don't even bring your stuff into your home until it is secuerly wrapped.  The heat from the plastic will cause them to crawl out of where ever they are hiding  and they will eventually die.  Also, throw the clothes you are wearing in the dryer on high for 15 mins.

Again, just wanted to give everyone a heads up, as I had no idea this was even possible let alone common.

I woke up with bites all over my hip and the top of my butt cheek and a few on my legs.  I looked up what they look like, and after going through pages of severe cases, I found more normal pictures and it was exactly what they looked like.  Then I looked into how you can get them and traveling came up.  Lastly I called a company and told them I thought I had them.  This said that it is possible to crush them in your sleep and that they will leave a reddish black mark if you do, this was difficult to tell seeing as I had red sheets on my bed, but I found one little spot, right where my hip would be when I slept that looked kinda like what he describe, ahhhhhh this is sooooo grosss!!!!!

Based on my research and the very informative man I spoke with, if walks like a duck and quacks like a duck,  then its BED BUGS, haha, At this point if I don't laugh, I'm gonna cry.

I was not taking any chances of waking up with more bites.  He thinks because I acted so quickly that I probably only have a couple, but he has walked into homes with 100s!!!!!!!
