Madison Reception Venues

Hi all!
I'm trying to find an interesting reception venue in Madison for approx 120 people - does anyone have any suggestions?

I've looked at the Overture Hall, which I love, but is pretty pricey..

And also Monona Terrace, which is a bit more reasonable in price but I'm not crazy about the layout..

I tried finding Goodman Community Center and got lost using a GPS trying to find it, so I figured all my guests would get lost too.

Any other fun ideas or places you've been too?

Have you looked at the University at all? They have some beautiful spaces. I think they might only take members, but it might be worth a try!

Lake Windsor country club has a great view and a great Crystal commons room.

    Thanks for the suggestions -
I did check out the University a bit, but the dates we were looking at were already booked ... They start the lottery for dates 18 months ahead of time!

I think I will check out Lake Windsor...

I'm having mine at the Madison Concourse Hotel. Beautiful spaces for receptions. A little pricey but not too over the top.

You could try Olbrich Gardens. They have a reception space there.

    Forrestal's in Middleton. Quivey's Grove.

If I think of any more I'll let you know.

I've been to a wedding/reception at the Lussier Family Heritage Center that was nice. The building is nice and it's in the middle of a prairie. http://www.countyofdane.com/lwrd/parks/heritage/default.aspx

Also, there's a park in Cottage Grove called Paradise Park, if you're interested in an outdoor wedding/reception. http://www.paradiseparkweddings.com/

I am having my reception at The West Side Club with Queen Anne's Catering right there.  There is also an East Side Club which has a fabulous few of Lake Monona and the Capitol; however, you have to bring everything in.

I am having my ceremony and reception at Bishop's Bay for a guest list of approximately 120. Besides most of the venues already suggested, we also looked at the sculpture garden at MMoCA and The Orpheum. I also have a friend who is getting married at Olbrich gardens with the same number of people.

I had my ceremony/reception at Badger Farms in Deerfield, WI.  It's a great/unique place and the people are great to work with.

    Madison Masonic Center.

It's a block from the capital so it's very easy to find and there's lots of hotels near by.  Very well priced as is the onsite cater.  If you haven't found a place go check it out! I love the ballroom it's awesome!
